Just Back From The Pacer Clinic

Hi all.

Well, it looks as though everything with the pacer is okay.

What I experienced on Saturday night was not recorded because when my heart decided to "act up" and go all weird on me, I did take my pulse and it was in the 80s; my pacer doesn't record anything unless it is above 150.

That event could have been a fluke and I really do think I over did it last week. However, I asked the cardiologist today to get me an appointment with my EP as soon as he could. My EP is off on holidays until the new year. I want an appointment in his office so we can chat, not an appointment in the pacer clinic. The cardiologist said that my EP is very accommodating and was sure he would see me as soon as he can.

So...I am happy with what transpired today and will just have to learn to slow down again. :) I really think I was just feeling SO normal and literally ran with it, if you know what I mean. Plus it's been kind of hectic getting ready for Xmas as I'm famous for leaving everything to the last minute.

Thanks again everyone for all of your support. I truly appreciate it.

Until tomorrow,
Pookie

Slow Down

by SMITTY - 2009-12-21 04:12:04

Now Pookie, you know there are better ways to use all that new found energy than chasing Santa all over hecks creation so I agree, slow you self down. Merry Christmas to you and Lloyd. Smitty

Darling Pooks - can only endorse Smitty's advice. No need to go raving mad simply because you've got this new lease of life - simply slow down - go with the flow - rest at every opportunity - enjoy the fun when it's on tap - but initiate nothing - simply allow your body to get stronger before you start acting the giddy goat! It's four days (by English reckoning) until Christmas - let your newly invigorated heart get used to its sensational output until Christmas Day - then let rip in modified rapture! Be safe and well, sweeting. All love, Sheila

Dog on a leash syndrome

by annaelliott76 - 2009-12-22 12:12:12

I know how you feel. Sometimes I feel like one of those little dogs on a retractable leash. Everytime I start to run. The button gets hit and yanks me back! In my mind, I believe I can do anything, but the body doesn't cooperate always. If you're like me, you're used to handling everything you can at mock one. Just slow it down to 70 or 80 mph LOL! I find I set unrealistic goals for myself now. The goals I used to meet at the pace I used to meet them is what got me here. I've learned over time (it took a year since I'm stubborn) to take things in stride more.

Glad everything is ok!

Anna
