Pookie's Surgery (Yup, another one)

Hi Everyone.

Just wanted to let ya'll know that I'm going in for surgery on my head/neck for my Eagles Syndrome this Thursday, March 25th. This is what has caused me unbelieveable chronic pain for the past 13 years and I'm hoping for the best outcome even tho the success rate is only 50/50...but I gotta try it !!!

I will be kept 1 - 2 nights for observation as the incision will be very close to my carotid artery and the swelling could (emphasis on could) interfere with my breathing, hence the hospitalization for observation. I just don't want to wake up with a breathing tube down my throat which would be the worst case scenario, but I'm a lot more positive about things lately. :)

I'm also hoping that my surgery isn't cancelled due to the Norwalk Virus that is closing a lot of sections of our hospital here (as in Blake's case). I'll be in a totally separate building, so here's hoping the bug doesn't jump over a few streets!!!

I'm also hoping I get out the next day as Friday is my 48th birthday!!!!!!!!! Did I say 48??? I meant 39 and holding :)

Take care,
Pookie

Pookie,

I have just been on here a short while, but you are one of the members who has made me feel quite welcome here. I will be praying for your speedy recovery, but I'm sure you won't need it since you sound like a real fighter to me.

So what do you want for your "39th" birthday? I will be back to hear how well you are doing and checking to see if you blow out all those candles!

Many hugs to you.
