metolazone

just wanted to know if some of you have knowledge or experience with metolazone, and what your opinions are concerning metolazones versus lasix.

Hi Verger,

Metolazone is a thiazide diuretic prescribed for CHF,cirrhosis of the liver,kidney malfunction,
hypertension, & other conditions where it is necessary to rid the body of excess fluid.

Lasix (Furosemide)...a " loop diuretic "prescribed for the same conditions,is stronger than a thiazide diuretic. Not only do they affect the same part of the kidney as thiazide diuretics, they also act in another portion call the " loop of Henle ". This dual action is what makes loop diuretics so potent.
