blood pressure increase due to pacemaker settings?

Help! Just received a dual chamber pacemaker set DDDR. Have partial AV block. Before, worked out regularly but had slightly elevated blood pressure well controlled with small dose of Diovan. Now have very elevated blood pressurs not controlled by twice the dose. Now told to take a beta blocker. Installers of pacemaker (arrythmia assoc in nothern va) claim the device does not increase blood pressure, but the only change made was the addition of the pacemaker. Since have left bundle branch block, and pacing via right ventricle, could the change have to do with filling time setting being incorrect or what? Any help would be appreciated.

I also had elevated blood pressure after the installation of the pacemaker. My doctor had to make several adjustments to the programming. I think he increased the timing to a longer period so that the pacemaker lets my natural heartbeat come through before it paces me. He also explained something about fusion beats, but I don't really recall since it was about 5 years ago. However, after the adjustments were made, my blood pressure went back to normal.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
