advice needed again

hi folks, a few weeks ago i posted on here after what appeared to be my body rejecting my device.
I've currently got a large abcess like "bump" on my scar and my cardiologist has put me on Flucoxacillin (think thats how you spell it) for 2 weeks then i've to report back in a month.
As well as feeling absolutely fine, he reckons i'll need to get the device replaced and put in my right side. Anyone had this before ?
I've read some of the posts about lead removal (mines will need to come out he reckons) and i'm now a bit anxious

rejection

I agree with Frank, I wonder how many rejections are actually infections. How's it responding to the antiobiotics?

If you are rejecting it and the leads need to come out (which I really doubt given you've got a bump and nothing else) they come right out if you've only had it a few months.

Rejection or infection

Hopefully the antibiotic will eliminate the infection and that will take care of it. I wonder how many of the so called "rejections" are just an infection the doc would rather not admit to.

With mine the cardiologist gave me a 15 minute infusion of an antibiotic before and after the implant. He also did a professional job of infection control during the surgery (I was awake so could keep track of it). As a result I never had any hint of infection or other problems at the site.

hi
shortly after getting my pacemaker i suffered persistant infection in the wound site.i ended up by having the device removed and inserted on the other side'the lead removal caused no problems at all. hope this eases your mind a bit. good luck.
