Heading in the Right Direction

I just came back from an interrogation and finally had some good news. At my last interrogation I was told I had 30 episodes of A-Fib and was in A-Fib 14% of the time. The longest episode was 56 hrs. At this interrogation I had 14 episodes and was in A-Fib 3% of the time and my longest episode was 16 hrs. The strange thing is nothing was changed on my last interrogation. I'm hoping it means my heart is getting stronger. I certainly feel much better than I have. I posted a message a while back saying I thought eating apples was helping my A-Fib. Now I'm convinced they do help. I was going through some personal issues at the end of Oct and had a lot of stress and anxiety. She was able to show me the exact days I was feeling stressed. My plan now is to relax and eat apples. We'll see how things are in May at my next interrogation. I'm hoping this continues. Maybe I'll be able to drop the coumadin soon.

Apple a day

Hmmm...an apple a day may keep the coumadin away!!

Stress and anxiety can have a major effect on our hearts. Our nervous system is geared to respond to threats by increasing HR to get us ready to respond. This works well if not overused. It can also stimulate a cranky heart to do strange things.
