Water Water Everywhere

I've been dealing with the flooding here in Massachusetts for two weeks now. I've never had water in my basement until recently. I spent today bailing out. I had a couple of pumps running constantly. I've been at it for 15hrs today. My basement is a mess. I had a nice bar and wall to wall carpeting. All the carpet had to come up and I'm still pumping water and to think I'm one of the lucky ones. A lot of people have it worse. The good new is I probably ran up and down the cellar stairs with an eight gallon bucket of water at least a hundred times in the last couple of days and my pacer hasn't let me down yet. It's like a Timex. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking. With all this water I thought it would take a dripping and keep on skipping. As much as it rots dealing with all this water, I'm sure glad my energy is back.
Happy Pacing,
Bob

And God asked Noah to built a boat, and Noah asked Why?

God replied, how long can you tread water?

Hang in there.

No chance of flooding here at my home on the high ground. After looking at all the pics on the media of all the flooding up in the Northeast, wow, what a mess.

Save the bar! If you save nuttin' else, save the bar. Throw an "Ark" party after the clean-up.

Glad to hear your lil' energizer bunny just keeps on going & going up/down stairs, lifting heavy water buckets and generally dealing with the stress. God Bless You.

If the "Ark" comes by my house, stop for a cup of coffee and visit. (LOL)

This too shall pass, and you will still have your nice home.

water

I know how you feel. This the first time in about 10 yrs we got water in our basement. Luckilly ours isn't a finished one but we still had a bunch of stuff in it. We lost a few things but compared to some parts of MA (or RI) we're still very lucky. It's nice to see the sun out now and hope it stays out for a while.

Water and floods

I can still remember the fear in my Mother and Father's eyes during the flood of 1964. I was about 10 years old. the entire North Coast of California (where I lived) was cut off from the rest of the world. It lasted for weeks. Houses floating down rivers, boats, trees, animals, roofs of buildings everywhere. It was a very scary time. People stranded, food was scarce, there was a lot of fear. No school, trees down everywhere. The rivers flooded, the rain wouldn't stop and the ocean tide was extremely high. It was a national disaster. Much of it caused by deforestation.
I am so glad that you are not in such dire straights. I hope that your basement can be repaired and that your pacemaker continues to do a great job of keeping you healthy. I shall keep you in my prayers.

I can empathize with ya'. We had two so called 500 year floods within 4 or 5 years. We live less than a mile from the dam that many "experts" were saying was in danger of bursting. I was so glad that before I would agree to buy this place a few years ago that I had to know that our house was above the dam. That didn't stop me from being a bit nervous about the idea of living on an island for a period of time. It did finally stop raining and the dam held and we went into a severe 21/2 year drought. Seems like it is feast or famine.....I so hope ya'll get some relief soon.

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker receives radio frequencies.
