What I'd do

As to the Dr not returning your calls, I would either show up at the Dr's office & insist on being seen or go to the ER & ask them to call the doc. Then I'd get another doc.

probably ok but...

It can take a few tries to get the programming just right so he's probably ok but just needs the settings tweaked. But I'm not a doctor and I don't know his history, sounds to me like he at least needs to be seen to make sure. If a doctor hasn't called me back in SAME day, I'd be seriously thinking about getting another doctor.

New Pacemaker

Jamie,

No that is not normal, as you know. But not knowing why your husband got a pacemaker I can't guess whether his pacemaker should or should not stop these. My experience has been that an irregular heart rhythm has followed every procedure involving my heart. These last from a few days to one time when they lasted 6 months. As for the sort of breath, he really needs to see the doctor. In fact that is the place to get answers for both problems.

I will say sometimes takes a few weeks to a few months to get a new pacemaker adjusted where it will give the results we expect. Very few of us get a pacemaker and do not have not have serveral trries made to ge tall the settings just right. So be patient and stay after the doctor anytime you think things are not right.

We wish him good luck.

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.
