Hi there everyone.
Just one quick question, does anyone here wear a ID braclet or pendent to alert medics, in case of an emergency. I only have the ID card in my wallet. Just wondering.
Thanks rayan

SOS Talisman

I have an SOS Talisman bracelet. It is a waterproof locket with a folded plastic strip inside to write your details on. This has enough space for a compleet description of my ICD and contact details for my Cardiologist. I looked at the engraved Medic Alert bracelets but they don't have room for all the details. I got a bracelet rather than a necklace because a Paramedic is more likely to find a bracelet in an emergency.

wear one

I have a Medic alert bracelet. engraved on is that I have a pm and that I take coumadin. All the other info they need (name, contact info, doctors, etc.) paramedics can get by calling an 800 number. I acn change that info as much as I want on-line (wich is good if your doctor or something changes you don't need a new bracelet)

Nope

I have both necklaces & bracelets (I dont wear them at the same time though!) - I travel to & from work alone & visit places for my job so I think that anything that helps to keepme safe is definately worth it!

I don't. Occasionally I think maybe I should but I've never gotten around to it.

Yes, Wear One!

I wear a beautiful crystal bracelet I got at www.laurenshope.com. It has my name, two phone numbers in case of an emergency and that I have an ICD. I never take it off; who knows when something could happen. When I was grocery shopping I ran into three paramedics and I asked them if they look for a bracelet/necklace. They said it's the first thing they look for and if the patient has one it gives them vital treatment information. I felt much better about my decision to always wear my beautiful bracelet. They have all types, styles for children, men and women. Absolutely wear one! It's a great partner with your PM or ICD!

bracelet, good idea

by thecrazyone25702 - 2008-10-05 12:10:58

Sounds like a good idea. I would like to get one. when I went back to the hospital after gettting my pm I had people pushing on the spot where the pm was cause they didn't know I had one. And it was the same hosp I got it at.
So I think the bracelet is a good idea.
