Just needing some support

I'm back, I have posted a few messages.I'm 4 months post PM implantation. For the most part everything is going great. I've recently returned to work as a Long Term Care Aid.The work itself can be very physical with lots of lifting and turning etc. Since returning back to work I've had some similar symtoms that I had prior to the PM. I used to get this feeling in my stomach almost like an adrenaline rush just before i used to almost pass out. I was diagnosed with 3rd degree heart block hence the PM and Im worried that the lead has become loose or something. I have not passed out but the sensations that i get lately are scaring me. I'm trying not to get into the anxiety state that I was in before as I know that can make symtoms worse. My Dr. has told me to come in for a ECG if I'm ever worried but I just don't want to be running to the hospital everytime something is not quite right. Do you think I should go or just trust the PM. Thanks for your time. Thank goodness for this website.

ive have been like that just lately not trying to go to the doctors for every little thing. i think you must trust your instincts and for you r own peace of mind have it checked out . if its ok you will know that if the feeling comes again its ok.. its better to be safe than sorry. only you know how you feel ..

Most PMs have a feature that records "events" so if you have had a period in which it is not funtioning correctly, it should be recorded. They could also tell if there is a lead problem by checking the PM. So you might want to get the PM interogated as well.

We all go through periods where we get anxious, as well as periods where we feel we have to "tough it out" but remember - it's your health and peace of mind you're talking about here! If you have questions, or aren't feeling right, by all means, go and get checked out, if only to find out there is no problem.

One thing the Drs don't tell you about is the HUGE mental adjustment getting a PM can entail, it does take some getting used to, so take it easy on yourself and trust your feelings. The main thing to do is follow alice G's advice above "its better to be safe than sorry. only you know how you feel..."

go check

What Magster said! An ecg will rule out the lead out of place but I'd also ask to have the pm checked. It's highly unlikely the lead came out but your settings might need adjusted. Don't suffer, call them! It's an easy fix and very common.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
