Pain from Leads

Hi Guys,
Have any of you experienced aches and pains from your leads? I'm 3 weeks post implant and by the end of the day, my neck hurts, and I can literally feel where my leads extend from my generator toward my heart.
Please tell me this gets better with time.....Thanks for your feedback, I truly appreciate it!

Ok, so I feel you are just getting adjusted to the pacemaker, of course you are going to feel weird or pains, you have been living without one your whole life and now you suddenly feel the change so I feel that is normal. Also on most pacemakers, including mine, the doctor usually sets a low for 60 BBM, so I think you are fine. don't worry about it and just enjoy life!

Seems normal

I'm 3 months post op and am just now beginning to feel normal. I also felt tight and could feel the leads. Some days i still can, depends what my activities have been. Normally its ok. When I go to the gym and work my chest muscle it protrudes the next day. I'm sure after a few more months that won't even happen. Hang in there, time will work it all out.

Normal for some...

I have had pain from my leads for three years now. I am a small person. The leads for ICDs are larger than even pacemaker leads. Mine rub against my collar bone and so my clavicle region and neck remain swollen. It is worse the more active I am. Sometimes the opposite effects happens for people and the more they use their left arm the more the body adjusts to having the whole thing in there. I hope you are of the later group. Your profile says this is your second PM, given that, I would definitely say something to your doctor about it.

Let me know how you progress with it. Remember, pain management is really important
