Sweating

I just came back from a very slow walk a few blocks. 10 days post op. I was always cold or comfortable before. It is sunny but about 70 degrees. I found heart racing, myself sweaty and had to stop. Why? Only lower rate is set at 60. Not higher one I thinkDetection rate says 180 is that mine or set one?

What was your hr when you felt like you were racing?

Keep in mind that your heart beats differently now than it did before. You may have to work up to exercise gradually. Or your settings may need adjusted. Did you say in another post that your next appt is in Oct (or was that someone else?). If yes, you may want to go sooner. If they don't see anything on the report, ask for a stress test.

Hi.

For whatever reason, I sweat more than I did prior to the pacemaker too. It's the weirdest thing! I was always cold, especially my feet & hands. Must be better circulation? But it's my neck and stomach that sweat now...I don't have the answer. I thought it was just me.

You need to keep in mind that you are only 10 days after the operation. You body is fighting hard to heal the wound and except the pm in your body.
Any operation if you try to get going like you were before before its time you will sweat and some times get dizzy:)
Hope this help God Bless you Amy

Sweating can be a good sign.....now if you are having a cold sweat while walking and you start to become clamy that is a different story. Your body could very well be adjusting to the new PM and activity......do you get Short of breath with this? Do you get palpatations with it? Do you fell untowards? Or nauseated? if you are not feeling any of these symptoms chances are you are ok. Just your body adjusting. However, if they do become bothersome and any of those signs or symptoms attached it is best to seek medical attention....

Keep walking your heart will thank you for it.....but keep us posted....cheers and good health to you....

Yes I was out of brath too and was walking so slowly. I always walked before 5 times longer so I am taking it slow. Today I was ok just stopped to rest a few times. Just not me. Hope it changes over time. I will try to get in before Oct but probably wont be able to. The more circulation is a good thing and I am warmer all the time but just did not like the shortness of breath and took some time to overcome when I was walking so slowly.

You know you're wired when...

You have an excuse for gaining an extra ounce or two.
