sleep apnea

I want to thank all of you that responded to my sleep apnea posting. Most of you asked the symptoms well, snoring, extreme fatigue, waking gasping for air, stop breathing during sleep to mention a few. I would stop breathing an average of 11x an hr for 45sec to 1 min. They can tell you this after the sleep study is completed. I truely believe that the heart disease and sleep apnea are connected. I don't really know which one comes first but at this point it doesn't matter. Thanks again for all the support you have given me. Your all terrific. Debbie

Well I was a little suprised to read your message. My sister-in law and I where just talking about this. I have Long QT sydrome and got my ICD in April of 2007 after going into cardiac arrest. I have done genetic testing and it was positive. I've had my 3 children tested and 1 brother. My brother just competed a sleep study for sleep apnea and they found that he does have it. He also tested positive for the LQTS gene. He will be see a Cardiologist soon. We where also wondering if they could be connected. I will get him to talk to the doctor and ask what he thinks.
