Better Today

I am doing better today, at least emotionally. I think it would help if I was a little more recovered from the three surgeries last week. Many doctors have called and been keeping me up to date. I am going to the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. My Doctor is Gregory Ewold. In mid-August I will have my evaluation.

Thank you to so many of you who responed in my time of need. I do not live in an area where there is a support group of pacers. You are all my Blessings. My church has been tremendous, but does not understand the way you do... to my somtimes "odd" ways of thinking.

My students have already told me that I do not think in a logical manner, but make the points they need to hear loud and clear. I am never sure if this is a compliment or not.

Some of you have sent questions and I am slowing getting them answered. Your questions have prompted my mind and I have asked some of my own.

Again, Thank you all so much and God Bless.

3 surgeries....

Hi Rattle Box...

Glad to hear that you're feeling better today.

I too had numerous surgeries and it just sucks the life right out of you. I had 4 surgeries within 10 days, 1st one was the original surgery, then a life saving cardiac tamponade as the sac around my heart was full of blood from 1st surgery, then a lead fell, then it fell again!! Talk about luck, eh? Then 6 months later I had to have the pacer repositioned as it migrated to my armpit!!!!!!!! Then after being discharged I got stuck on the elevator for 45 minutes....

Rest...get plenty of rest.

Take care,
Pookie

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
