alcohol?

I just had 1/2 a glass of wine. Somewhere long ago, I remember reading a posting that said it wasn't a good idea if you have a PM. Does anyone know?
Thanks, Janet

Alcohol?

I had 3 wines last night. Good glass of heavy red wine can only help life. :-)
I've had my ICD for about 1-1/2 years and never had any issue with alcohol (in moderation). Don't worry, you'll be fine. Enjoy.

condition, not the pm

Just having the pm does not mean you can't have a drink but the condition that causes you to need the pm may make it a bad idea, and some medications don't mix with alcohol.

Beer a mandate, not an option

I've had my pacer for over 5 years now and if it were true that drinking alcohol after implantation was dangerous, I'd be long dead. I keep the makers of Bud Light and Jameson Irish Whiskey in business... Besides, I have a government job in public safety, which is traditionally managed by retards so without my booze, I'd probably go crazy! :)

Drinking won't kill you

I am a weekend warrior. I drink for enjoyment. Does not interfere with my pacemaker whatsoever.I usually drink a case of beer on the weekend and some tequila. The only thing that might kill me is my Job! I am a cop.

14 years on,2nd PM, Fit as flea - bench pressed 320 lbs on Sunday and have beer/wine most days (sometimes not in moderation either!) So unless you're on meds that say you can't mix with alcohol, I wouldn't worry to much .

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
