Update – New Medtronic Lead

As most of you that have read my posts know I’ve been having a lot of trouble with atrial failure. A couple of weeks ago my EP removed my failed atrial lead and replaced it with a new Tined lead from medtronics. The lead was placed not in the atrial but at the entrance to the coronary sinus. The amazing thing about this lead is that the conduction/pacing end floats free in the artery. It is attached to the artery or vein wall with tines several inches from the end. The lead was designed to be used for ventricular pacing but can be adapted by a good EP to pace the atrium.

UPDATE – I had my post surgical check up yesterday and to everyone’s amazement the lead is in place, conducting well, and I even feel good again! I would highly recommend checking into this if any of you out there are suffering from a similar condition.

I would be very interested in hearing from those of you with atrial troubles and learning how your doctors have handled them.

God Bless and Live Well

I am SO happy to hear that you are feeling better. You seem to have one heck of a good doctor on your team.

Way to go!

Sounds great. They just keep coming up with better ways of doing it. Maybe they will eventually find a way to do it without leads.

That is so good to hear! What a blessing to have a doctor who's so on top of things.
