Going back to work Oct 7

Hi all surgeon has released me from my Aug 1 hi risk bypass. Cardioligist releaseing me to go back to work Oct 7 with restrictions. What I dont understand and I dont know if it is going to matter or not maybe someone can answer. I work in a plant that makes tires, the dept i work in is the pressroom where the rubber is heated to 350 to 400 degrees to form the tire we have 30 presses that make two tires at once. both doctors when all this started where agianst me working in such a hot invironement and it does get hot. I guess my question is extreme heat going to bother me haveing heart bypass and a pm/defib heat for 8 hours, winter i dont think will be so bad but summer? I will be running 3 presses lifting, pulling and preping raw tubs. Im not sure i can do the work anymore now anyways, im 51. Any input would be greatly appriciated. Sometime I wonder how much doctors buckle to insurance companies and other compaines to sending people back to work. just a thought.

hopeing for something else

No union. this for me started in july of this year. didnt even know i had heart condition and according to docs or so they think i could have had 2 to 5 heart attacks which what they told me was why i have so much damage to my heart. If i cant do it i cant do it and ill go back and have a really serious heart to heart talk with cardioligist. they may or may not at my work try and get me into another job they have made coments about going to something else but not in stone yet. I honestly dont believe i will be able to do my old job and they have told me by law all they have to do is hold my old job open to me as long as i have FMLA or if i cant do the job they dont have to make concesssions for me. I have after the 7th three days of FMLA so i will make a determination within a couple of days if i think i can do the job or not and make my descions on what i will do. What scares me if i didnt feel 2 to 5 heart attacks before how will i know now, of course now i have my big brother in my chest to watch over me. the way my luck is going it would probably malfunction and not jolt me . lol. oh well such is life i guess. I do know that i would be the luckest person on the planet if i couldnt do this job and get another job paying the same that i make there at 51 years old and with a major heart problem.
thanks for all the input if nothing else you guys are letting me whine a little. you are the best in here

Hi walkerd, what restrictions have the drs. made?? that is what you need to find out. check with company, maybe they wont let you back with restrictions. go back part time and see how you do. what is the wt. of what you are lifting, pulling?? this needs to be revaluated. and then pass it all on to drs. you need to look out for you. take care good luck

whoops

i forgot to add i had my pm/defibrillator installed on sept 16th. cardioligst put a wieght restriction of 15 lbs on lifting on left arm for one week after return to work as that will put me over the four week healing period. Most of the tires are at least 15 lbs or over the problem to me is have to lift cooked tires out of press over a center pole in the mold and they stick alot. the doctors are have been aware of my job from day one, im just scared is all as i dont want to do any damage that will cause me to go thru any of the surgeries again, i would be happy never to indure any of them again. they wont let me go back part time and if i cant do the job i will be terminated.

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
