let down again

hi ive just been on the chat room again and no one there i see someone came on for advice and they were let down . i thought that the chat room would be a great help to people making new friends and helping answer questions. in the months i have been here i have only talked to people half a dozen times it isnt good is it. i know you can post your questions but sometimes when something is worrying you you need another person to talk too, not wait a day for an answer .

Chat NEVER works for me. EVER!

I wish chat would work. I stop in there from time to time just to see if miraculously something has changed to my favor, but NOPE.
I can go in there, and then the only thing that I see is MY posts and not of the others. I've never seemed to get any answers from anyone about what the problem might be. I don't know if it's the website, or me and my computer settings. Who knows.
All I do know is that it would be nice to have a place where we can chat in real time without having to wait for answers from the message board, or send private e-mails back and forth like text messages.
A decent chat room would be a wonderful blessing to this place, I think.

I think the problem would be cured if there where no names on the right hand colum when people leave alot of times i know when i go in there there are alot of names there and no one is there. I think muffy thought there where people there like I do sometimes and thought what a bunch of stuck up @$$!o.

I recently provided our web developer with a wish list of possible site improvements. This list was compiled based on feedback from members over the last year or so. Chat is definitely on the list.

Over the next couple weeks, I will be working with our web developer to scope out the work and assocated costs.

Please be patient and know that we are listening.

I never expect to run into anyone in chat, I know it's quiet much more often than not so I'm always pleasantly surprised if I run into someone. Unless someone has posted a particular time to meet there, I rarely even think to go in because I can't read the messages and be in the chat room at the same time. I check in several times a day, but I never stay long. I read what's new, I post, I get back to work.

Blake, is it possible to have the chat open in a new window, so we can continue to browse the messages while being in chat? And I know it's been asked before, it the "who's online" box could somehow indicate if someone is in chat, it could be a signal for more to pop in and say hi.

I love your suggestions TraceyE......it's been ages since I have been able to chat with anyone in the room.....I never think that I am being ignored....it's just that no one is there.....for what ever reason...

hi thank you for your replies iam sorry how i sounded this morning having a bad day but there has been some good ideas put forward it will be interesting to see if anything is done. iam not trying to get at blake , iam glad i have found this site i have made some good friends from here maybe my expectations were too high maybe tomorrow will be better

A lot of us live in different time zones. I think it would be a good idea if the time we log in was shown. Is it possible some people forget to log off and are still showing as "on line"
