games consoles

hi its a long time since i came here but i have a bit of a problem and i wondered if iam the only one it affects.. my son has recently bought a ninetedo wii he played his friends at my house a few months ago and i felt unwell but i did not connect it to the console.. my son bought a new one last week he started playing it in the same room as i was and the same feeling came back as i moved out of the room the symptoms got less when i returned it got worse again.. i rang my heart clinic and they said they are interested in this as new things come on the market and they nee d to know what will affect the pacemaker in the future they said that it was the radio waves that the console and handset are ommittng i am having some one come from the hospital on the 30th nov to wire me up and do tests while i play the wii i just wondered if anyone had a similiar experience so i can imform them.. if this is the case how many more people are being affected and not realising it. would love to hear your comments on this thank you

thanks for your comments i have been thinking about this alot i wonder if it is because peoples setting are different iam 100% dependant my setting are between 70 -125 i have a two lead pm i will let you know when i have the tests done . it makes no difference if iam holding the handset or not even if my son is playing and iam on the opposite side of the room it affects me the same. the technican did say that when they bring out new and more complicated games the radio waves are stronger. my son even turned down the sensitvity on the games but it made no difference. its a puzzle on i hope will be sorted out soon .

Not a problem.

I have never experienced any kind of effect from playing with or proximity to a wii.

I have problems when I use the same arm my pm is on so I have to switch sides. On other game systems I have to turn off the vibration otherwise it sends weird feelings into my chest.
I just always walk out of area when it bothers me a lot. I am curious to know what they discover so please let us know.

Take care,
Tammy

yes i know how you feel about the thinking your crazy its hard to explain what the feeling is like so you try to keep it to yourself. i feel isolated alot of the time and like you it was a way of enjoying the company of others but the pain i feel is hard to ignore ..lots of things affect me i cant go through the self service tills my heart races as iam scanning the things. i feel a bit like a freak sometimes i do feel lonely and unable to explain how i dont like how this thing is invading the things i can and cant do .. i know thats some people will say iam selfish and this thing is keeping me alive and i know that but it doesnt make me feel different about it.. sorry if that upsets people when i was given the choices i had no advice of how it would affect my life and i think you should be made of aware of things. i suppose you could say some goood has come of me feeling like this with the console i mean if they do the test s and it helps someone else i suppose something good has come out of it .

I posted a while back about this as my sister-in-law, who works at a nursing home, received a letter of warning for people with pacemakers and ICDs and use of the WII console...

The Nintendo Consumer website does state to consult your doctor prior to using, and others have reported slight issues...but I think it's probably all in your comfort level...

Good luck!

Maybe so

Maybe it does have something to do with dependency on the device. I am also dependent. I also feel the cell phones though too. I am eager to hear what happens my settings are very similar to yours 75-110. Maybe the settings just have something to do with it. I have just ignored the feelings I get as I enjoy playing games with my cousins it's the only way I can communicate with some of them. Thank you for posting. I sometimes think i'm crazy.

Blessings,
Tammy
