Hello, friends. I'm wondering if it's OK to use a magnetized sweeper for meteorite hunting- maybe if I kept it at arms' length? My PM is a Medtronic dual chamber Enpulse.

Meteorite Magnet Sweeper

Thanks for the feedback, ElectricFrank. That's pretty much what I had figured. I will give this more thought. If I decide to purchase one, I will certainly have someone with me and do a "pre-field" test to see if I get light-headed. Will let you know if I do!

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
Apprehensive

I just read up on magnetized sweepers and found they have as much as 70# magnets strong enough to pull things from the ground. The issue here is that the magnetic field is intended to extend out from the sweeper. I would be concerned about its effect on the pacer. Not likely to do any permanent damage, but it could switch it into whats called magnet mode. Move away from the magnet and it goes back to normal.
If you decide to try it be sure you aren't anywhere a fall would injure you if you got light headed. And have someone with you to move the sweeper away from you.
If you have read my posts in the past you will know I am not one to be overly concerned, but this one worries me.
