Magnetic Card Readers?

So we have card readers for security where I work. I didn't even realize they are magnetic until my boss was asking me if that was going to cause me problems. Anybody know?

As Patch said, they'll give you a book with a list of things to avoid. Some reps can take equipment to your workplace and verify that you're safe if they have any doubts. New pm's are shielded and are ok around most equipment.

If I have questions like this one, and I'm not certain after input (all of the above make sense on this one), I call the PM mfg tech dept -- they have been very, very helpful!!!

I use one of those cards at work all day long and no problems the only thing I would make sure of is that you dont hold it over the pm.

If the card reader radiated enough of a magnetic field to affect your pacemaker it would erase the card.
