Home again...

So I'm home from my first pm surgery. Rather sore, annoyed about the new lump on my chest (hubby says it's not really noticable), but overall doing well. It's very weird feeling something thumping around in there...I guess I just have to get used to that. Trying to stick to ibuprofen during the daytime - now that I'm out of bed the Darvocet makes me feel kind of spacey.

The kids (2 and 4) did well. My girl was very brave; I could tell she was holding back tears when they came to visit but had to leave me at the hospital. So I'm hanging in...

Agreed, you'll not notice the lump after awhile.

We all vary in how long it takes to get accustomed to our new 'friend'.

The important thing to remember is that at least you have your pacemaker keeping you safe!

What a relief that must be to you.....esp. with young children.

Your children will be thrilled to be part of your 'getting better' program.

Take care.

I've been wondering how it went! Thanks for checking in.

You shouldn't really feel it thumping, though the faster hr is noticeable for a while. The feeling will go away with time. And the lump should be less noticeable after the initial swelling goes down.

The worst is over...

it is all uphill from here. I am going into my 3rd week post-op. I can't believe the energy and overall feeling of well being I have. The lump will go down and you feel better before too long. Hang in there. Michele.

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!
