Hi! I'M NEW HERE

Just wanted to say hi. I'm new here. Recieved my PM on feb. 26,2008. I was electricuted across my heart and my doc did a heart monitor implant. In a 3 week period my heart stopped beating 7 times. The longest was for 30 seconds. I'm also young 33 years old, 32 when accident happened. So welcome to the world of the PM. So far so good though. I've been reading alot, but didn't know what to say so I waited. Sounds like there are alot of knowledgeable people here and I wish my doc was this good. Thanks for all the advice I've gotten and I hope to keep getting more. Well just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Best wishes to everyone and Thanks alot.

Glad you found us. You will like it on here. I see you live in a neighboring state...I'm from southern Michigan. My son now lives in Indianapolis and loves it there.

I agree that you are lucky to have survived. It's amazing that you are here to tell about it!
Again, welcome, and I'm glad you are finally posting.

Take care,
Suze

Nice to meet cha TJB. I was implanted on 8/14/08, after 8 years of riding a medication and surgery roller-coaster, and a lifetime of weirdness. Seriously, the word "implanted" still creeps me out a bit.
You should read my bio. My implant was a trip. I have just a pacemaker, but as Cabg said, I agree with him as you're one of the few that knows what it feels like to get defibrillated. Bless their hearts! Bless yours, jeez, it needs blessing after what you've been through. Quite shocking........LOL. Seriously, though. If you haven't noticed, I like to joke around. My doctor in Atlanta said that he was going to use me as his poster child for pacemaker implant. He's only a few years older than us, hee, hee.
I don't know what I would do without this site. It was a blessing before my pacemaker implant, afterwards while I was aching from the surgery, and now.

Welcome-

Welcome to our little club. It sounds like you're very luck to be with us!!

I've found that the more you ask intelligent questions and politely refuse to budge until you have an answer, the more your doctor treats you like an intelligent adult and volunteers information. They get busy, they get used to patients who don't know about their condition, and that sometimes makes them complacent about explaining things to us. And if that doesn't work, get another doctor! It's important to have a good understanding what's going on.
