cheast pains

morning all ,i have a question my hubby has a mitral valve replacement and a pm last year ,and latley he has been getting some cheast pains that come and go ,but yesterday he said it was like someone was pressing on his cheast it didnt last long he has a appiontment on the 15 nov with cardio doc for a cheak up should we wait til then and has any one else had this type of pain he seen our gp about 6 weeks ago with some sharp pains he was getting but not this pressing pain he is now getting on an of gp wrote to cardio doc for a appiontment can any one say what these pain might be just to reasure me thank you all very much from one anxious wife

I wouldn't wait - if this is a different kind of pain, then go. My father described his heart attack as being like enormous pressure on his chest. Not at all what you see on TV or in movies. He described it as feeling as though there was an elephant sitting on his chest.

I hope that your husband isn't having serious problems, but with that description, I'd be off like a flash. Let us know how you get on.

id like to say thank you all for your advice ,well we got hubby cheaked out ,now it turns out the pain he decribes might be angina ,they have given him a spray for under his tounge to se if that releves the pain we are due to be seen again in two weeks at the hospital just thought id update everyone xxx
