Strange Sensation

Hi folks, has been a week today since my 2nd ICD implant. I have been told that I only pace in upper chambers although have never felt anything. However I have noticed to completely different sensations over the last few days.

1) occasionally a regular kinda twitch just about inch above nipple height which I am guessing is pacing?

2 a strange stinging sensation, only happens very occasionally but feels slightly unpleasant in approx the same location.

(nb. the 2 sensations do not occur at the same time.)

Starting to get little freaked that the 2nd sensation is some kind of leaking electrical current?

Can anyone reassure me that this is normal as never felt anything previously. Leads were not changed just a swap of device.

Appreciate any feedback. Vikkix

Dear Vikkix, I had a similar experience but the sensation was in my diaphram after new leads were inserted. My ventricular lead was too close to my diaphram, which
caused me to hiccup 70 times every minute. Your amperage may need to be turned down, but I don't believe the impulse could travel all the way from your upper chamber through your rib cage to your pectoral muscle. Is your battery located closeby? Perhaps you may be "leaking" current from the connection between your lead and battery, but that is just an opinion. What you feel is not normal but doesn't sound dangerous. Certainly it is unpleasant, and you don't want it to continue. I would call my doctor tomorrow morning. Best of luck.
