Waterski Cardio's opinion

Hi everyone hope ya'll are having a great day!
I have talked to my Dr. several times and he says I should be able to do anything - Thank God! - my heart is fine - I have bradycardia, my heart rate drops lower then it should and I had a "cardiac arrest" on 10/03/08 and that is why they decided to put in the ICD, at my first Dr.'s appt last week the St. Jude Rep. was there and did the interrogation on my ICD, I also talked to her about barefooting and she said it would be OK and the fact that I would be wearing a ski vest should protect the ICD good enough. They act like it's not a big deal but being new to all of this I am a little apprehensive and have not been able to find anyony yet that waterski's.

Sharon, I ski most of the time now in Floral City, Fl a small towm just south of Inverness, we have a trailer in a park "Moonrise Resort" that is on the Tsala Apopka chain of lakes. It's a little cold to ski now so I will have to wait a while plus I need to get back in shape before I try to much. I am 56 and just learned how to foot 3 years ago.

Have a Great Day!

That's great news! It really *isn't* a big deal having it, it just take a while to get used to the idea. I don't waterski, but I snow ski, hike, play tennis, rollerblade, work out at the gym... those of us lucky enough to have problems that are fixed with a pm (as opposed to simply managing the condition) can do just about anything we want! As long as we stay away from magnets and avoid getting hit/kicked in the chest, it's all good :o)

Hey, just fire that ICD in the water a few times and stun the fish around you. (G
