I have some digestive enzymes made by brantleycure.com and i called the pharmacist and they seem to have no problem with it but i still get nervous taking any supplements with meds. I asked my EP doc and he said " I may be asian but i know nothing about herbs" It was funny the way he said it but it did not give me an answer.. I could ask my cardiologist when i see him in about 3 weeks...

What herbs?
If the herbs contain any chemicals that are pharmaceutical, then you need to check with your doc.
ask the doctor to be sure

The pharmacist probably has a good idea, but I'd still run it by the doctor.

That truly is funny. I am not offended and I would be very surprised if anyone else was... Thank you for sharing.

Now.... Herbs, yes there are herbs that can increase the heart rate, your metabolism and an array of other things. Let me think... what was it I was told to stay away from....Ayurvedic Herbs! just to name one of them. I have no idea exactly what the herb does. Good luck and I will keep reading so I can learn right along with you.

Rattling With Pills

Hi, I'm new to this and stopped at this discussion on using herbs. I have had my ICD for the last 7 years and the problem for 10 years. They had to chase me to get the ICD in, but I just hate hospitals. The last time I went inside was 3 weeks ago, I had 8 shocks at different times in 1 day and that was because I was missing all my medication. That made me think about my health and situation. So I looked on the net to find out things about the heart, and then I thought about what I could do and take for my heart. A week later I bought pills from my health shop and am taking Cayenne,Ginko Biloba, Hawthorn and Soya Lecithin. Also Cacao, Garlic, Motherwort, Coenyme Q 10, Bilberry and Danshen. But I realised that some pills are a bit too big for me to swallow and so cut them in half, and then thought I should take them in natural form if I can and maybe cheaper. And with my new health pills, I got into being a health junk, so instead of coffee in the mornings, I take herbal teas, hardly any processed food and more oily fish - Omega 3 naturally. And after a week, I feel a bit more better and hopefully I will feel really great after 2 months - I wonder what I have been doing the last 10 years!

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.

I have taken Hepatika-40 and Korean Ginseng with Lopressor. I asked my Cardiologist and he said "OK".
I did not have any problems. I hae since been switched to an Ace Inhibitor (Enalapril) and still nor problems. Suggest you ask your Cardiologist .... Good luck!
