Stairs Update

Hi guys, especially Cabg Patch,
Well, spoke to the docs office, seems the dr took the day off. Now you tell me, who actually takes a Tuesday off???? uhmmmm Anyway, the PA says to me after I explained the problem with climbing stairs... "That my legs are like lead and I can't raise them!" She suggested I needed a stress test. I explained I just had a stress test the middle of Dec.! Did she really think I needed another one???? After another pause and being passed around to 3 different people they decided to check the results of the previous test, then replied to me ... "your test is great. No problems." So I guess I should be able to get my legs to climb stairs by willing them to do so? I asked. She didn't appreciate my direct reply. She said she would have to contact my Doc and see what he had to say.
So far I haven't heard my cell phone ring. I also told her about the chest cramping pain. She replied "So you have 2 problems."
What is wrong with these people? Am I only allowed one problem at a time? he he... I'm not upset, in fact I find it quite funny. If it weren't for the fact that It is my heart we are dealing with it would be hysterical! I can see it now... only 1 symptom per patient will be allowed at any given time! he he
My goodness.... maybe they will call me back before I have to try to climb any stairs. ut oh.... my bedrooms is UPSTAIRS!!!! Heaven help me.... it is going to be slow going for sure.

Maybe you should move to the basement. Oh, but then you would have to go up stairs to get back in the house. I give up. :)

Great advice Jessie, it very well might be that I need to exercise to build up the muscles again. I only walk a lot now, I don't workout with any weights. Plus, just so you know.... I am not offended in anyway that you made this suggestion. It is most welcome!

I wish I lived closer to Turbo because he is just one of the great people here who really knows how to keep in shape. I most certainly use some help with how to get my schedule in shape to allow me to get in shape.

Bill, you just make me laugh.... but don't give up on me yet, now where is that basement light???? he he
Both of you guys are wonderful friends!

rate response?

by bambi - 2009-02-04 10:02:38

I had the leaden legs, shortness of breath, and tightness in my chest too. I noticed it as I BEGAN to start teaching my ballet classes. After mentioning this to my Dr., they turned on the rate response feature, and all symptoms went away. Very simplistically, my heart didn't respond fast enough to my body's demand for a higher heart rate.
Also, are you getting enough potassium, calcium, and vitamin D? Lack of these can cause your symptoms too.
I love Magster's prayer! I say Amen!

i started my therapy and i am using weights, it is starting to be helpful. i can lift 6 pounds with my ankles and i also lie on my side and lift my leg and push back for five seconds. also i am using a huge phonebook as a step and i step up and then hold and oput my leg down for five minutes. i can't believe how this has helped. ask your dr. your friend. maureen

You know you're wired when...

You have an excuse for gaining an extra ounce or two.
