Suspender Pads

My Father-In-Law had a pacemaker implanted in October. He cannot wear his suspenders because it irritates his skin over the implant. I have read on ALL the sites that "You can wear protective pads under straps, suspenders or seat belts."
Has anyone used something that would work. I can't seem to find anything that wouldn't be super bulky and nothing intended specifically for suspenders other than what Fireman wear.
Any ideas are appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time.

Pads

How about sewing a pad into the offending strap. If it is still bothering him since an October implant he will probably need padding permanently.

It's strange how different we are. I was wearing a seat belt in my 4wd bouncing around on back roads in about 3 weeks. It never has bothered me since. I'm beginning to think I had a heck of a good cardiologist as far as the surgery is concerned. He just didn't have a clue about programming the pacer, the Medtronic rep handles that.

Frank,
Thank you for the suggestion. I never did take to sewing but I am willing to give your idea a try. Any particular material you would recommend?
I saw a website that had a nifty pad for women to wear under their clothing for bra staps, but I don't think it would work for suspender straps. I did email them with the idea though!
Thank you and I wish you good health in 2009.
