Mine says:
My name
Heart Patient
ICD/Pacemaker
Doctor's name and phone number
My home phone number
My work phone number
My wife's cell phone number

I also bought mine from American Medical ID, just a stainless steel one.

Hope this helps, Bruce

Hello-
Many of us do wear medical alert jewelry. If you do a search for this topic (top left of the screen) you will find alot of info.
I really feel that wearing mine is vital in case of an emergency so that they know exactly what that lump is under my skin.

Mine says:
Heart Patient
My first & last name
ICD SJM V-168 (so they know that I have an ICD that is a StJude Medical brand and then the model number)
Allergy to Penicillin & Codeine ( I have a couple other med allergies but I only listed these 2 as they are the ones that stop me from breathing)
I put "heart patient" on it so that they know I am being treated for a heart condition and that will give them a general idea of what meds I may be on.

I bought mine from American Medical ID. I bought an inexpensive bracelet to wear everyday/around home and a nicer silver one for dressy up times :-) There are alot of options out there.

Best wishes-
Candi

I looked up Medic Alert and their business model is they put their 800 number on the back of the bracelet, they store info on you. Fee is bracelet price (many models) and then I think it was $25 a month (or $29) - not positive. My Cardiologist felt the "lump" is so easily detectable that it is not necessary. Thanks all. I will look up American Medical and Lauren's Hope. Somehow I think I will feel safer if I have one -

I wasn't concerned about having one either but a member here is a paramedic (live_strong) and she convinced me. If you do a search you can probably find the post, I want to say it's 2 or 3 months old. She said in an accident situation, they treat you differently if they see you wearing a bracelet with cardiac on it, everything from how fast they dig us out of a wreck to traveling with the lights on to which facility they take us to. They aren't always looking for the lump, and if you're trapped in a car they won't be able to see it, but they always immediately check for medic alert.

I got the online medical record from american medical, it comes free with any purchase. Mine has
first and last name
PACEMAKER
the 800# for my omr
access code for my omr

if someone goes to the omr website or calls the 800#, they can get our entire medical history, allergies, emergency contacts, insurance info, medications.

yea.... I wasn't wanting to wear my medical "condition" on my arm either.... until I was in that darn car accident. I was rear-ended by a truck going 45MPH while I was sitting at a red stop light! It knocked me silly and I couldn't have told you my name! So... At the end of the day the EMS guys couldn't believe I was not wearing a bracelet! I was searing my seatbelt. It did leave a nasty bruise... but I am now fine.

What was I thinking? I have no idea, but I have a lot of them now. Many I bought on EBAY! yea! he he They look great and I have all styles to match all outfits. A girl has to look good, not matter what she is wearing.
