First let me congatulate you on your weight loss...good for you for taking control of your weight. I am also glad to see that your BP is under control.

You mention sleep apnea.....have you ever been tested for this? People who are overweight, smoke, drink alcohol in excessive amounts all tend to be prone to sleep apnea.....having monitored many patients in an ICU envrionment for sleep apnea....I have seen their heart rates drop in conjunction to decreased respirations. Some patients have sinus arrest and heart block develop in REM sleep with only mild desaturation.

According to Medscape: "Patients with apnea-associated bradyarrhythmias are more overweight than patients without bradyarrhythmia. The higher RDI found in these patients may be caused by this circumstance. (2) Bradyarrhythmia occurred predominantly during REM sleep. (3) Bradyarrhythmia were found independently from decrease in SaO2; a threshold value as an upper limit could not be defined."

If you have't already done so I would discuss with you GP about being tested for sleep apnea....also you don't mention if you are symptomatic with your bradycardia...many people walk around with decreased heart rates...it's when they become symptomatic with them that warrants investigation.....

You also mention panic attacks....that on the other hand can cause increased heart rates(tachycardia's) and palpitations are very common.

In a nut shell sounds to me like you need a complete investigation before I PM would be considered....

I wish you all the very best..and please keep us posted....I would be happy to answer any of your questions if you felt like sending me a private message...again...all the best...

I would try to relax until you see a cardiologist. ( I know it's hard)
The cardiologist is a specialist on the heart and he will be sure to give you some answers about what's next. He might even refer you to see an EP (electrophysiologist- cardiologist who specializes in the electrical system of the heart)
I'm sure you have many questions, and it's great that you found this place. Just try to patient as you wait and see what the cardiologist says. Keep us posted, please, and don't hesitate to ask questions. There are a TON of people here that help you.

welcome,
Angelie

thanks

the doctors visit was weird he said I am fine and the pauses at sleep dorsal something and no big deal cying that my beat was normally fine. I got to say I excpected more he is a electrical specialist. He ordered a echo stress but said by my chart and heart sounds there will be no problem, a sleep apnea test was ordered though, he said from here on out my md can handle it, this guy comes from high regard he said its normal not normal? He said I have a very slow pulse but with it not hurting me he wouldn't do anything he has seen people in the 40 and 50's btm before with no problems, do I rest easy now or what.
