I just got my pacemaker a few months ago and experience increased static on my body. Does this have anything to do with my pacemaker? I was just wondering if the metal might be causing it.

If I was feeling shocks around my pacemaker site, I would tell my doctor about it.

I am pretty sure that your pacemaker is not causing your perception of more static. It is more likely that you are more alert than you were before, so that you "notice" things a bit more than previously. A good way to be. Static levels are affected by atmospheric conditions. You have nothing to worry about. I was working on my car yesterday and was surprised by the amount of static shocks I recieved. They are harmless- very high voltage- but no power behind them. Cheers Peter
You know you're wired when...
Youre officially battery-operated.

Life does not stop with a pacemaker, even though it caught me off guard.
I have tachycardia as well, sometimes

They almost placed an ICD in to. You know one of those things thats an ICD and pacemaker combined.
I just wondered if the metal they use for pacemakers atrracts static electricity. Sometimes, I even feel little shocks close to my pacemaker site. Thats why I'm wondering about it.
