Boston Marathon ???

I haven't been on the site for some time and just wondering if anyone is running the Boston Marathon this spring? I had a pacemaker put in in the fall Sept 2008 and in Oct 2009 ran the Victoria Marathon and qualified for Boston.
I had a lot of trouble after the Pacemaker was put in and developed frozen shoulder, and Brachial Neuritis which damaged three of my shoulder muscles fairly severley. Seems to be coming back around and slowly building the shoulder muscles back. Boston has really give me the focus to push myself to do better.
I'm really curious if others with Pacemakers are doing the granddaddy of marathons.

I only wish

LOL.. I've only been running 3 yrs and I only wish I were that fast to qualify! I'll try the lottery for NY City next year perhaps.. At least then you get in within 2yrs.
I think men age 50 still have to do it in 3:35 or close to that.. I'd likely be 4:15.. soooo, that's not likely happening without tonnes of speed work, hills and months of training. Boston just isn't that important to me. You can still do NYC and Chicago which I'm told are awesome races.
Good luck!

GO FOR IT!!!!!

Never would my knees take the pounding of the Boston Marathon (or running more than a 10k anymore) but I admire you for getting out there and getting it done. I am sticking to my bike and my big ride this year is the 120 mile Triple Bypass, over three mountain passes (really 4 but one is on the way to the other) with 10,000+ feet of lung busting climbing out here in Colorado. Keep us updated and good luck and good miles.

Someday...

That would be a dream come true for me, but I'm not even close to marathon yet - planning my first half marathon in October. Good fortune to you and enjoy the training!

You have an excuse for gaining an extra ounce or two.
