AV Node Ablation Tomorrow

Hello everyone,

I've got my AV Node ablation tomorrow. I'll be glad when it's over and I'm a little nervous about it at the same time. Question for those of you who are pacemaker dependent already, will I notice a difference right away?

Just looking for a little reassurance. Before the big day.

Thanks,

Debbie

You'll be in my prayers tomorrow.

I am dependent but not because of an ablation. The difference was immediate and astronomical, I could feel it as soon as I woke up in recovery.

Thanks TraceyE,

I hope it's that way for me too!

I don't know much about anything really, but I do know how great it will be if all goes well. So here's to a great outcome!!!

best wishes

Debbie,

I have been totally ablated and PM dependent since May of 07. I had no choice as all other options failed. My EF went from around 15% to 45% immediately.
As I got sick shortly after the procedure and slept until the next morning I don't remember much of the first evening. I currently rock climb, lift light weights and do aerobic machines around 30 to 40 minutes a day. I have a ICD/PM set up for resynchronization therapy. It is not perfect but is a lot better than letting a-fib ruin my ventricles. For me the worst part is my own mind getting in the way. I wish you well and am sending positive vibes your way.

hope so!

I sure hope it is, too!!!! I have an av block, so I'm guessing the pm will work similarly for both of us. My sinus rate is normal, so the pm makes the ventricle beat whenever the atria does.

2 YEARS AND GOING STRONG

Best decision I ever took to have an AV node ablation. Never looked back. Heart immediately responded after ablation. Climbed a mountain 16 weeks later. Before ablation could hardly get out of bed !!! Let us know how it goes, we AV members will be thinking of you. Just relax. Cheers Peter

you will love it! Woke up after AV ablation & PM insertion & was not SOB & etc. for the 1st time in 2 yrs. And that was 8 yrs ago. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
