HI Jim.

I have never heard of that drug.

However, if you have any concerns, call your pharmacist. Perhaps he/she will be able to help you decide whether to take it or not. Some people don't experience all of the side effects listed.

Another idea would be to check and see if the medication comes in a lower dose. OR ask your pharmacist if it is divide-able. Some pills are not to be divided...so ask first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take care,
Pookie

Yes I have taken Imdur since I got my pacemaker. It is a form of nitroglycerin given to stop angina. It stopped my chest discomfort which they told me was angina. However it gave me awful headaches so after a short while the doctor stopped it and put me on nitro patches which gave me a lower dose of nitro. This helped the headaches a little, but when the doctor learned I was removing the patch after a few hours, he took me off the patch and put me on the sublingual tablets to be taken as needed. I now take one of them maybe once or twice a week. I definitely did not need nitro continuously.

If you have read the cautions on the Imdur you see they say don't take Viagra if you are taking it. Imdur lowers blood pressure and Viagra will push it even lower to the point it can be dangerous. I get around that by being sure I have not taken any nitro or any other BP lowering meds within 48 hours of when I may take Viagra or one of its brothers. Let add that I don't know if this will word for everyone but be the fact I'm still alive I guess it is working for me. Seriously, I have never noticed any side effects, but you should check with your doctor before trying it.

I think Imdur is a good medicine for people with problems it will treat, and if the headaches don't drive you crazy.

I was put on this medication along with a very low dose ACE inhibitor that controls my blood pressure. The Imdur ER is being used to alleviate my chest pain and it has done so completely. I have not have one single flair up at all since starting it! The only down fall is the headache that I have had. I am going to call my cardiologist today to see if I can take anything for that. I still give it a 10 even with the headache because the chest pain was worse than the headache!
