I have had my pacemaker for 2 years. Just today I noticed in a silent room a ticking. I heard it again this evening and realized that it was coming from my PM. I have never heard this before. I feel like a ticking time bomb! Has anyone else experiended this ticking sound? Does it indicate a problem of some sort? Zwin

Maybe you need a new clock.

I don't believe there are moving parts in a PM to tick.
Me too

Hi, I just had an atrial lead revision 6 days ago and I have a clicking sound inside. Only when I lie on my back, not so much I hear it, but I feel it, if my husband puts his ear to my chest he can hear it. It feels like something rubbing off one another, I think it must be the leads rubbing off a bone or something. This is my fifth pacer and I never had it before, not bothering me , but a bit strange!

hi Majella,
8 yeArs later, what do you know about the tapping? Mine is doing that now. After a year of having it, I’m guessing this is new. But I’m lying in bed with the tv on the lowest setting. Could it be it’s been happening and I never noticed?

In life we have to consider what is more important, the loss of the vanity or the gain of the life.
It's probably mechanical

You didn't say whether the ticking was at heart rate, but I bet it is. I guess every time your heart beats, the big vein jumps and moves the leads. The leads are probably knocking together or against the pacer.
