Random chest pains.

I am now 12 weeks past my pacemaker surgery. For the most part I feel pretty good; however I still get some randomly located, sharp pains in the left side and near the center of my chest. They come and go and are sometimes triggered by movement. Is this normal? Is the PM or the leads contributing to these pains?

TIA,
Steve

random sharp pains or a dull throb are normal part of healing. If you have that along with dizziness or lightheadedness, shortness of breath, your left arm hurts or gets numb, stronger pain or the feeling of pressure on your chest, get to a doctor. But little stuff is normal!

me too! 14 weeks!

Hi there, just little sharp pains every now and then, i get something which feels like a pin prick in my collar bone and the dull odd ache in the centre of my chest. I think its the leads, find they are worse if i dont wear a bra (oh i am female by the way) lol. Asked my cardiolgist said nothing to worry about, as Tracey said, we will still be healing.

Hope it soons settles down

Me too, today in fact.

I've had a pacemaker implanted nearly all my life and I've had these same pains. But today it's happening all day and it started to weird me out. I'm glad I found your post in my search. It makes me feel a bit better. The sharp pin pricky pain is just under my left pectoral. I think my anxiety isn't helping anything but if I still feel the pain in a day at the same constant rate I may have to go see someone. Thanks for posting.

I get them too

Just lower and to the right of my pm. Seems worse at night, so I'm thinking I tend to over react. People without a pm probably have some of the same little pains but don't have a reason to pay much attention. And when I busy during the day I hardly notice them. Like Tracey said, if it were a serious problem there would be other symptoms that would get progressively worse with time. I sometimes think my heart is mostly normal but my brain isn't. *wink*

Anyone else have any of these:

Hungry just before mealtime
Tired just before bedtime
Loss of appetite just after a meal
Sharp pain when having blood drawn
Rapid heart beat when running
Gasping for air when looking at your medical bills.

I am no expert, but I believe that without the defibrillator that I have, I would be dead.
