Running Update

I've posted here before, but am updating for those who question their abilities after getting a pacemaker.
Had my PM installed in August, 2008. Ran a 5K about a month later and came in 25th of 800. Ran a marathon in February in 3:21. Ran a 5K last Friday in 19:14, less than 5 seconds off my PR.
I am nobody special, I am just determined to keep improving in my sport. YOU can too!

I had my pacer installed on July 23rd. The doctor told me I could start running after a week. I ran 12K that weekend and felt fine. The next few days I ran another 12K and 7K. Each run I felt no problems from the pacer. I'm amazed that I can run within a week of the implant yet they told me.>"oh yeah, best not to drive for a month" as the doctor left the operating room.
Seems a bit silly really..
I'm doing a 1/2 marathon in late Sept. and I have no doubt I'll be able to complete it.
FEELING GOOD!

You know you're wired when...

You have a maintenance schedule just like your car.

As for my pacemaker (almost 7 years old) I like to think of it in the terms of the old Timex commercial - takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
