Hi ! I have had my PM since 2004 and all this time I have been telling doctors that i feel the pacemaker going off. They either told me i was too sensitive or it was all in my head !
Well it was not the pacemaker i was feeling.
nobody ever told me about PVC's !!!!!!!!!!!!! and i guess i was too naive to know this by osmosis.
Before i had my PM I never felt PVC's.
Finally a PM tech told me about PVC's. hnmmmmmm
They only happen once in a while, but when they do - i get startled and scared, because I think something more terrible is about to happen. Do others feel this way also ?
And...before my defib goes off i get very tempterature hot and dizzy, so now any time i get temperature hot - I get concerned.
Does anyone else experience this ?
Thanking you in advance for your replies.

About a month ago I felt really lousy and noticed I was skipping beats (yes I was taking my pulse). Called my EP and the technician told me to do a phone transmittal. And yep they were pvcs.
I posted a question about this here in pm club then and had a lot of great responses. Do a search here for pvcs and read up.
What I did notice is that I really feel them when I really overdo it with exercising or anything that really tires me out. I think I was trying to do too much too soon with my exercising. I still get them, but now I rarely feel them and they don't phase me anymore.

Getting them all the time! Mostly under stress. I too never had them or felt them before the PM, but sure do feel them now.
They used to make me jump and startle me as well. But now I just "jolt" a little bit-tell myself I know what it is and it's harmless and I go on with my day,
But I wasn't always like that! Give yourself some time!
Good luck

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.

I have been to the Dr. and pacemaker tech many times since I had my PM in Jan. We have changed meds recently thinking it was a reaction to them. But the tech did say I was having PVC episodes, but I shouldn't be feeling them. However what you have just posted sounds like me. It will wake me up at night and feels like a panic attack.
