Ablation done

Well, I had the ablation yesterday and everything went very well according to the doc. He said that he was easily able to get to everything and didn't feel like anything was left undone. Have not had an irregular beat since the ablation!! :) I am very hopeful, this is better then I have felt in forever.

Enjoy it - the difference I have felt since I got my settings tinkered with almost two weeks ago is amazing. 9 months of hell and 2 weeks of heaven. Congrats Mike on a successful remediation!

Your ablation

by RobertinNashville - 2010-01-24 11:01:07

Michael, I read that one can get ablation for eithet Afib or premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) Was yours for Afib? How long did the process take? Hospital stay? Recovery?

Robert,

Mine was mainly for A-fib, but I also have PVC's frequently. My surgery went very quickly, only a couple hours. I stayed over-night in the hospital and the recovery from the surgery, that was easy and quick. My only problem ironically is that right before the surgery I hurt my right shoulder. That was way worse then the surgery or the recovery. lol As a by-product of hurting my shoulder, I kept waking up during surgery and they kept having to re-sedate me. I even started fighting off the nurses in recovery due to my shoulder hurting. Between that and operating my hospital bed in my sleep, I am sure I gave the nurses one heck of a time. lol
