Magnets in purse

Hi! I bought a wonderful purse last year that I just brought out yesterday to use for winter. A friend at work just said to me she was surprised I could carry it since the closures are all magnetic...they are covered in leather but there are 10 magnets in the purse. Does anyone know if purse magnets will mess up my pacemaker? Obviously did not have a pacemaker when I bought purse. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows about the magnets in a purse. Thanks a million!

Dr. Appointment

I have an appointment with my EP tomorrow. Please say a little prayer for me. I am hoping that he has a plan as far as my treatment is concerned. This whole wait and see approach is not working for me.

Thanks!
Amanda

sore shoulders

Hi everyone! I have'nt written in awhile. It's now 3 months since the PM surgery. Has anyone else had shoulder pain? I never had shoulder pain/joints popping, before, but noticed it since the surgery. As I lift heavy objects, it gets worse, so I'm taking it easy. My doc said it's nothing related to the surgery. Could it be he's just "covering his behind?"
Thanks, janet

Anyone Have a 3 Lead PPM?

Does anyone have a 3 lead pacemaker? Mine is 2 weeks old. I have several questions. I do not have an ICD, only a pacemaker with a hemotoma to boot in the pacemaker pocket.
Would like to talk to anyone with any info.
Thanks,
A-fibber

Dental shots?

I just got back from having a temporary crown procedure. I love my dentist, and I know he's just being concerned for my wellfare, but he poked a hole in my gum and delivered medicine that way instead of giving me a bunch of epinephrine shots.
Does anyone know for sure that Epinephrine is a contraindication with pacemaker implant / arrhythmias?
I would like to tell my dentist not to worry and treat me just like any other patient that needs numbing medication.

Celebration!

This entire weekend I celebrated my birthday in a completely different way. I had grown up not celebrating my birthday and last year I had a ER visit the day before this year I celebrated my life. Though as I was sitting and gave a thank you message to all my friends. I came to realize that everyday is a true blessing that we should be celebrating.
Sometimes I have a point to a message but not always. This one I sorta do I think. lol... I just hope that each of you can take the time...

Angelie's back

Man, my lung issues have literally dropped me on my butt, but I'm back to work today.
I've been using that darn spirometer like the docs have instructed, and I've got some pretty good rest over the weekend. I didn't stay in the hospital, which I think was a good thing. You always get better rest at home anyways, and there wasn't a whole lot that they could do besides breathing treatments, oxygen, etc. I think after this week of taking it easy, I'll be back on track.
Thanks for the love...

Just needing some support

I'm back, I have posted a few messages.I'm 4 months post PM implantation. For the most part everything is going great. I've recently returned to work as a Long Term Care Aid.The work itself can be very physical with lots of lifting and turning etc. Since returning back to work I've had some similar symtoms that I had prior to the PM. I used to get this feeling in my stomach almost like an adrenaline rush just before i used to almost pass out. I was diagnosed with 3rd degree heart block hence the...

Placebos

Have any of you been following the news reports on a survey that showed nearly half of docs regularly prescribe placebo pills to patients. Some of the articles also mentioned docs not correctly telling the patient what was done and why during a procedure.

I wonder if this isn't the cause of some of the reports here on the forum that don't seem to make sense.

If you are interested, Google the words "doctors placebo" (leave the quotes out. There isn't any particular article...

MY checkup a question

Hello there:
I went to my cardi, this week. Did a check on my ICD/PM.
All looked good there. But she said I am going into cardi-arrest.
She also gave me Lasix+potassium. I have to weigh myself every a.m. Anyone else out there that has the same problem?
Also how do I find out if my PM is turned on or off. Forgot to ask, got the print out though. What do I look for. Asking this question because I was suppose to have only the ICD implanted, but they implanted the combination whic...

Diagnosis off work

Went to my cardioligist wednesday for a followup after the week prior adjustment. Had been off from work a week. Made no adjustments, told me in no uncertain terms I shouldnt even be here, told me I probably will not be able to do any physical labor as what i had been doing, and he wanted me to go on disability. he is adjusting my medication upping my coreg dosage, and will keep raisiing as lo...
