"Ya'll...................."

This Friday is the dreaded Friday the 13th. I heard that this is the day that people really need to be careful- especially us.
ICD's will shock people every time they step in a crack, and you wouldn't wanna break your momma's back would you?
And I heard that pacemakers will change radio station frequencies, but only if you see a black cat cross the street in front of your car.
There were a couple of other things that I heard as well, but I forget. Sorry.

Be careful, and...

This site brings me up so much

I am so glad I found this site. I get uplifted every day reading the posts in here. The help and friendship we bestow on each other is fantastic. Strangers reaching out and talking and helping others to become friends not strangers even if it is in cyberspace. My thanks to Blake for this site. My thanks to all the people that have helped me the last five months to deal with my illness. And hopefully in my mediocore way may have helped someone else feel a little better. I dont know as much as som...

Welcome!

I use to try and get on everyday and welcome each new member but with my health I have not been able to. So I wanted to welcome each of you to the club.
Yes, there is always that chance you won't get along with somebody but for the most part you can find some amazing women, men, teens, and even kids on here. I hope that all of you feel welcomed and if you don't and need encouragement at all please send me a private message any time.

Also, with all the stuff being posted ab...

Is there a CHF connection?

Hi everybody...

Since the end of October, I have noticed that when I walk any distance, I get some shortness of breath and chest tightness. Then, as soon as I stop and sit, I am fine. Also, at the end of the day I noticed some ankle swelling or impressions where the elastic top of my socks grip my calf. I have had a PM since July 2007. I am overweight and do have allergies. My primary doc thinks its Reactive Airway Disease caused by allergies, almost like an allergy induced asthma.

Dual Chamber Pacemaker for Neurocardigenic Syncopy

Hi! I just got a pacemaker implanted on Jan. 14th 2009 so I am new to all this stuff. I was diagnosed 4yrs ago with Neurocardigenic Syncopy by a tilt table test which showed when I pass out my heart rate drops drastically and stops for about 20 seconds. They had me on Prozac for this for 4 yrs and it worked perfectly till Feb 2008. I use to get lightheaded and dizzy just by turning my head, pass out from hitting my elbow, after sex was a big one. After one of my last pass outs towards the end of...

Post op 8 weeks and finally starting to feel like my old self....

I never thought this day would come.....I should have known it would be when you are in the midst of the pain it is sometimes hard to see the light.

It has been a rocky road, but I honestly must say that as of the middle of lasr week things have changed. It's like a light bulb has gone on.

On January 20th I finally took myself into the ER as I was still experiencing considerable amount of pain..the strange thing I thought at least was that it was always in the same spot....

Scar tissue & Pain

Hey everyone!
Had my PM put in on 12/17/08 and all has been well. Just a quickie question though....

In the past 2 or 3 weeks I been getting sharp pains in the tissue around the device. Sometimes it almost feels like something is tearing. Someone told me that it's just because the scar tissue is forming and that these sudden sharp pains will subside. It can happen at any time (even just sitting here with my laptop), but I can be certain it will happen when I turn over in bed.

Questions and more questions

Doctor wants to put in PM. I was told on Feb. 4 2009 my cardiologist wants me to get a PM implanted. This all began not because of symptoms, I have no physical problems, but because of family history. I had a nuclear stress test to check for blockages, not conclusive pictures. They did find that I had a Left Bundle Branch Blockage. A delay of 160 milliseconds. A heart catheterization, no stents inserted or major blockages. An echo gram that shows a low ejection factor. Still no phisiological sig...

Sharp Pain

I have had my pacemaker for a little over a year now. I am pacemaker dependant after having a complete sinus node ablation in November.

Every now and then I can feel a little thump in my chest caused by my pacemaker. It is where the atrial lead connects to my heart.

Well, today I started having sharp pain in the exact same area where I feel those little thumps. Normally I feel the thumping a few times a day, it doesn't ever hurt, it just catches my attention. But now, I am...

Frustration!

I hope you all will forgive me... but I am so darn frustrated!

I think my PM is working overtime from the high demand. Thank goodness I don't have to climb the stairs as well!

I have been trying to install a new printer and I'm about to go bonkers! It just won't work, the Mac can't see the printer, the wireless is not recognizing the router and I am frustrated. I am ready to call it quits and pack it up and take it back!

Just needed to whine for a minute. I th...

Question for the ladies...

Hello ladies!

Okay here is a good question for ya. I am a 27 year old with LQTS and an ICD. Also a mother of two. After having my second child I lost a good bit of weight (weigh about 105 pounds). I have always had small breasts and thought often about having breast augmentation. The thought has been going through my mind more and more now that I see my ICD actually sticks out of my chest further than my breast. Here is my question to you. Does anyone have any information or heard any...

Stress....is what causes us problems

This is long but one of the best I have read.

STRESS

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water?
Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it.
"If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.

If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my righ t ar...
