Sorry! I'm not "really" here

I have tried MANY times today to LOG OFF.
The site says I'm successfully logged off, but my name still appears in the "Who's Online?" box.
I guess I'm just here in spirit even when I'm not really here.
In the mean time, if you send me an email and I don't respond quickly, please understand that I might actually "not" be here.

I wouldn't ignore ya on purpose, I promise. Maybe the "Who's Online" box will get un-stuck soon.

Happy trails,
Angelie

PM Site

New to site and just wondering if anyone has had the same symptoms. I had my PM installed in Sept 2008 and everything went ok untill 2 days after the install. I have developed I believe frozen shoulder and am in the process of getting this looked after I hope.
My question is when I go to bed and after a few hours it seems I roll over or move and I have this pain from the the PM site almost like when you have a cut and the scab forms and you tear the scab. Is this from some healing that is...

I am so glad to have found this club!

I have had my pacemaker for 22 years. I always thought that this was something I would just have to deal with on my own. I never dreamed there would be forums for those of us who have pacemakers.
I was diagnosed with a second degree heart block when I was 15. Being so young I was confused, scared and didn't understand much of what was going on.
The doctors told me nothing and it was hard for my parents to explain things to me. I'm not even sure how well things were explained to the...

SVT post PM

Hey everyone,

just had my medtronic adapta implanted last Thursday and all is well with the bradycardardia but now I'm having recurrent (what feels like) SVT. I had SVT in the past which was ablated and only had a few episodes in the past 8 years but now I'm having it multiple times/day. I'm contacting my electrophysiologist tomorrow morning but was just wondering if anyone else had a similar situation.

thanks!

Bob

CRT-P

Hi to all who read this:

I'm new to this site. Have spent the last couple of hours reading posts before deciding to join. Glad to be a member and hope I can contribute at least as much as I take from others.

I had a St. Jude CRT-P (biventricular pacemaker, 3 leads) implanted December 1st 2008 electively after failing antiarrthymic drug trials in hospital to treat highly symptomatic afib, high frequency palpations and nearly constant sinus tachycardia. These drugs put me...

New to Pacemaker Club

I am 40-years-old and had my dual lead Boston Scientific demand pacemaker implant on October 17, 2008. I am a pretty active person and have been working out 5 times a week for the last six years. In February, after my run, I felt light-headed and dizzy and fainted. I went to the ER and despite an abnormal EKG and heart murmur, he released me and told me to follow up with my primary doctor. About a week later, I saw my primary doctor and he ordered an echocardiogram. The echo indicated my he...

Post op week 5 Lead Extraction and PM

Well it is 5 weeks since my surgery. I still am experiencing bad days along with the not so bad days. I am trying to be optimistic that this to shall pass.

Prior to leaving the hospital I was seen by physio, I had to do stairs, and participate in the excercise program. They went through the excercises we should try and perform every day. One such excercise was walking.....I have been able to walk up to 1 1/2hrs...but generally it is 45mins.and then I am done.

I have to...

Sun exposure?

Quickie Question: I've been told that I will need to keep my pacer area covered when out in the sun next summer because it will got hot and essentially burn me from the inside out...? ?Sounds unlikely, but I thought I'd ask.

(I know that the scar will need extra sunscreen though.)

'sup?

Pardon the title, but for wont of a better one I just... "shut up Sydney" (me talking to myself). Anyway, I just wanted to know...

A) Is there anyone out there with any type of congenital heart defect that would like to talk?

B) Is there any interest for me to post a "Weekly quote"? Here's one I just read (it's loonnnggg): "Difficult times have helped me to understand better than before how infinitely rich and beautiful life is in every way, and that so many things that on...

Here ya go Frank. Just as I promised

This circulated around the net about a year ago. It took me a while to find it again. It still makes me laugh. I work in the medical field as well and have seen such bloopers in doctor's dictation. Too funny.

Working as a CMT (certified medical transcriptionist), I get to hear a lot of silly things a doctor might say during dictation. Here are just a few. Have fun.

frustrated

Today is an okay day, I guess.
My heart races and skips more than Lou.
I can't seem to keep the laces tied on my left shoe,
and I my darn pants keep falling down.
Good thing there's hardly anyone at work today.
I keep tying 'em up, but they won't stay.
And who said scrub pants were comfortable.....
I guess they would be if they would just stay in place.

LOL!
I'm falling apart.

Pregnant with pacer

Hello everyone... My wife has had her pacemaker for 4 years now. We recently found out that she is 10 weeks pregnant!! yay!! The reason she had her pacemaker put in was due to her fainting all the time ( about 10 times a year) and her heart would stop for long periods of time before "re-setting". I know that some dizziness is to be expected during the pregnancy along with all the morning sickness, but it is reminding her alot of the feelings she would get before she had the pacemaker put in. I...

Heart rhythm medicine

Hi everyone. I have been put on the heart rhythm medicine to keep me from having so many episodes from fast heart beats until they get me in to have another ablation. (This ablation will be my second one, had my first one in 2001, followed by pacemaker implantation) Anyway, I was wondering if it is normal to have days that when I take my medicine, Rythmol SR 325 Mg. twice a day, I get very lightheaded or dizzy? Sometimes, it even feels like it, the medicine, brings on the fast heart beat and mis...

The Pacemaker

You were warm and welcoming the day that I met you.
I was there to help you out and knew exactly what to do.

We've had our bitter arguments even though I've always won.
Tangled in the compromise, I always did what must be done.

Could this really be happening? I can't believe that this is real.
How can they throw away our life after knowing how I feel?

I love you more than anything. You're all I've ever known.
Don't leave me now after all these...

hi

Just found this site a few weeks ago. I'm not alone! I received my latest and supposedly greatest pacemaker in October. This is my third in 13 years. Long story in such a short time.

Drama like you wouldn't believe!

Like totally like OMG like no way (just kidding - sterotypical teenager)
Anyway, I don't know if you guys want to know this stuff, but I thought it was funny and worthy of sharing.
First of all, my boyfriend donated blood a few days ago, and I was soooo proud of him!! Then he said he was casually pyschotic and that I was beautifully pyschotic!! My pacemaker melted and I think my heart can beat on its own now!!!!! *sigh* (JK) Second, one of my best friends is dating my ex's twin (confus...
