My daughter just got a pacemaker put in this morning, she is 10 years old. She fainted Tuesday at home and everything has happened so fast since then, she had a monitor on for 24 hours and they found out her heart keeps stopping. they wanted to wait until Monday to put in a pacemaker but Wed. night her heart stopped for 5.4 seconds and 4 seconds yesterday so...she got her pacemaker put in this morning. She has 2 leads on it. Lets hope for a speedy recovery....

Hey!!!!!!!! Yesterday, I read a quote by Maya Angelou: "I've learned that I can have pains, but I don't have to be one." I am going to adapt this into my life, considering the past few months. Even my friends have said, "I hope you feel better Sydney, because, no offense, you can be...kind of a ****." Those were their words, not mine! Anyway, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas if I'm not here before tomorrow. It's Christmas Eve, and it just seems like 4th of July just passed! So Happy Christm...

I first would like to send the warmest of the Season's Greetings to everyone here at the PaceMaker Club!
I have just finished reading the "Letter to Medicare" listed under "Latest News", to the right. My goodness, what a very well written letter we have here. I would like to encourage everyone to read it, as it could effect you directly or someone you know. The attached stories of our PacerMaker friends really sends the message that we need help with the infections!
Bravo...

Hello Everyone,
I have a very old pm (16 years) that I rarely, if ever, use since an ablation 10 years ago. I was diagnosed with sinus node dysfunction when I was 9 (I'm 28 now) and had the pm implanted when I was 11. Anyway, I've been having some strange heart symptoms for about 6 months. After several doc appointments and a month long event monitor, I finally got a call from the doc yesterday that a monthy phone check detected that my pm is pacing my heart pretty much whenever it feel...

Anybody besides me ever notice how few people that post questions here bother to say thank you when somebody tries to help them with a reply. Especially the new ones. It ain't me they are not saying thank you to because I don't ever try to give any answers, but it just seems strange that so few people will take the time to say thank you. I looked at that other site and almost always them people will say thank you. But then they don't have near as many people asking questions as there is here...

As anyone who has read my past posts will know Ive had a problem with atrial failure. The atrium will just not pump the blood and tries to work against the closed heart valves.
Many attempts to get adequate pacing established (including a thoracotomy) have failed.
UPDATE I had surgery Thursday and the doctors were able to restore normal function to my heart by establishing pacing of the atrium.
The unique method used is the clincher and I hope anyone else out...
