Hello, I had a pacemaker put in on the 13th. I have TONS of questions but right now I need to know something that is scaring me. I *think* my doctor set my limit for 65. My pulse just registered 64. Does that mean the pacemaker isn't working?? Someone please answer. I'm scared.
Thank you.

Hi, this year I think my costume is simply going to be my usual nurses scrubs with a little twist.... a bit of an electrical cord hanging down from underneath my top! ha ha... easy and effective. Plus... some nutter is going to believe it is how I recharge my pacemaker! ha haaa That's when I get to laugh at them!
How about anyone else???? Idea/suggestions for a ICD/PM Halloween costume?... I'm sure everyone would like to hear your crazy ideas!

I walked a mile today for the first time since having my electrical storm back in 2006. Other than feeling dizzy when I got off the tread mill, I felt a sense of satisfaction I can't begin to explain. I came home, ate lunch and took a nap. I was pretty sore after my nap but my mind set. ...the hurt felt good. Fighting to get my ICD taken out though an uphill fight was the best choice I could have made for me.

Support team,
My Dr. stated I could not raise my arm for two weeks and that I needed to take a bath. The bandages are still on, when does the lump go away and when can I take a shower without any worries.

HOW TO KNOW WHEN YOU'RE GROWING OLDER
Everything hurts , and what doesn't hurt, doesn't work anyway.
The gleam in your eyes is from the sun hitting your bifocals.
You feel like you really hung one one the night before, and you were in bed asleep by eight.
You get winded playing chess.
Your children begin to look middle-aged.
You join a health club and don't go.
You begin to outlive enthusiasm.
Your mind makes contracts your body can't meet.

Last week I posted a message about my Dr. not wanting to see me for 3 months...knowing that I was having issues.
Well, yesterday I was having bouts of tachy all day and I felt horrible. I called the Dr. and he told me to go to the ER...I'm sure it's because he didn't want to deal with me and thought that everything was fine.
So, I went to the ER and they did the ususal work up. I would be lying in the bed and all of the sudden my rate would shoot up from 60 to 130. They put a call in...

Now I have mild pneumonia. Jeez, will it ever end. My luck is just as bad as those around me. Last week my friend's truck got stolen, and then his other truck spontaneously combusted last Sunday at approximately the same time that my husband fell off of his motorcyle at crushed his ankle.
Men.........I swear!
And now I'm sick, not feeling too smurfy, playing nurse while at the same time trying to train for a 5k in December with pneumonia, a partially collapsed lung, and a recently imp...

July 2007 I experienced my first pre-syncopal event, which landed me in the hospital. Since then, I now live with a resting heart rate, while awake, in the 40 to 50sitting and high 50s to low 60s standing. I have been experiencing profound lightheadedness for over a year. I would like to emphasize there is nothing athletic about me. The lightheadedness has been disabling and I have been unable to work or finish grad school.
Now, my family doc wants to try a PM sense nothing el...

I am feeling tired and depleted...anyone have any feedback....vtlaney

Yesterday I had an 8hr episode with a fast heart rate @120bpm. While the rate eventually became normal @60bpm (my PM is set at 60bpm), my heart feels "sore". I'm thinking it is muscle soreness maybe? Just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar after bouts with a high heart rate.

As anyone experienced increased sweating after pacemaker implant? Before my pacer implant, I would sweat but not that much. I usually stay on the cold side and when I warmed up it felt nice. I live in South Georgia.
Now when I exercise on the treadmill sweat pours out of me like a Saturday Night Live skit.
Just wondering....it almost seems like my circulation has improved since PacMan was installed.
