Poem Title: Celebrate Labor Day
morning, noon and night
We deserve a little break
don't you think that's right?
Bring the picnic basket
with all the good things to eat
For today we'll take it easy
and give ourselves a treat
We'll play horseshoes
or maybe some volleyball
We'll do a little swimming
together with friends and all
So celebrate labor day
and whatever your plans may be...
Just wondered what happened to all the enthuiasm for the photo album.....the total seems to have been the same for around three weeks..
I would have thought with the amount of members we have we should have made the $500 in the first week and had some spare to help Blake with his charity
I seem to remember members asking Blake for the album to be part of the site it would be a shame to let it slide now.
Just my opinion.....Peter
Will someone educate me on what (if anything) you feel when your pacer kicks in? Right now, I can't imagine it would be worse than the chest cramping I have. I've heard from people about 3 brands of pace makers: Medtronic, St. Jude and Guidant. Are there any other brands? I'm spending the weekend researching each.
I am the mother of a child with a pacemaker. My daughter is totally pacemaker dependent and just entered kindergarden. She had her pacemaker implanted the day she was born--she was born with complete heart block. I am concerned about rought recess play since her pacemaker is in her abdomen and her wires are external to veins at this point.
Anyone have any experience with public schools? Any suggestions for an anxious parent? I have already had a meeting with her teache...
Just to let you I am after surviving a major flood. You might have seen us (ohio) on the news. We were one of the hardest hit areas hit. My house missed but my brothers house got hit reallybad with 2ft of water in the basement and it was coming up to their first floor level. All the in the downtown area got hit. There is a really bad order from the floods. You find out who your true nighbor and friends are that come out to help. Even the resturaunts and stores that didn't get flooded are helping...
No, not a kitty--Have spent the last week at Mayo Clinic in Mn. because of increased number of shocks from ICD. I have had the device since 1994 and only had a few shocks in the beginning but have had 4 since the first of the year.
I was scheduled for a heart ablation last Tues. By the third test on Monday I was beginning to draw a crowd. Finally protested at the number of times they repeated the echogram and was informed I had a "forgien object" in my heart.
It turns ou...
People do visit the chat room but it seems that they miss each other, and there is nobody to chat. Perhaps it would be good if those that wanted a chat visited there on the hour or thereabouts; that way at least if anybody is going to be there, they will be there.

My mother is experiencing a strange sensation with her new pacemaker. This is her third one and she has never experienced this before. Every three hours, she feels three thumps or pulses, around the clock. Her pacemaker model is Adapta made by Medtronic. Has anyone ever had this happen or knows of someone that has had this problem? Her cardiologist is puzzled by this and wants to give her a new lead and another pacemaker. She is 79 years old and is recovering from the other pacemaker surgery Aug...
Since my bypass surgery in February and then PM implanted in June, I seem to get stressed out a whole lot easier. I'll feel sick for two or three days. My cardiologist has told me there is nothing mechanically wrong with my heart. I've never had a heart attack. He tells me that I'll still have bad days from time to time but not to worry about them. He has told me to get my mind off how I feel and quit checking my bp all the time. He says when you check your bp too often you'll expect it to be hi...
I just wanted to say thank you all very much for all the helpful and wonderful comments you have given me. I know things always look bad in the middle of the night. lol but actually things are starting to look up. I got my pacemaker on an emergency basis and was not expecting anything like this to happen at all. I was just feeling tired and exhausted lately at work and had no get up and go. I attributed it to the heat (it has been sooooo hot here in Georgia lately) and thought that was all...
I have just gotten a pacemaker implanted, only a week ago. It is really kind of scary and upsetting. But the pain is slowly going away and I do feel so much better than I have in a long time, that it is strange that I feel so depressed. Any suggestions would be appreciated
I due to have a replacement pacemaker in the next 6months. My job is very physical i can be on my feet up to 12hrs a day. Sometimes i cant keep up with my day. Im tired beyond what i can physically & emotionally can handle. My pacer is fine & my heart is fine. I wanted to know if anyone else feel like this or if my im letting fear get the best of me.
Can anyone tell me what should be engraved on a medic alert bracelet besides the fact that I have a pacemaker? Should I have the manufacturer and type? What about doctor name and number? Thanks for helping.
Hi everyone!! i just had a visit with my cardiologist yesterday. My pacemaker turned 15 in July and the battery is still going strong!! I feel very lucky about this, and I asked the pacemaker tech how long the longest pacemaker lasted. She said the longest she knew personally was 23 years. Does anyone know of one that lasted longer??? I'm just curious!!

You know you're getting old when....
- When your friends compliment you on your new alligator shoes and you're barefoot.
- When your doctor doesn't give you x-rays anymore but just holds you up to the light.
- When a sexy babe catches your fancy and your pacemakeropens the garage door nearest you.
- When you remember when the Dead Sea was only sick. eel good.
- You have more patience; but actually, it's just that you don't care any more. <...

Hi, I'm 35 female & had my second pacemaker in 2004 but when I had my first 1, I had problems with 1 of the leads, so when they did the second pacemaker they capped the lead to prevent further problems, thinking that everything was ok & working fine I was told during 1 of my check ups that again 1 of the leads were'nt working properly, so they put my appointments to every 3 months.
Also, I've just recently been having chest pains, specially around the area of where my wires lie, the kind o...
Hi Everyone -
I had a lovely email from sweet Valerie yesterday. She has had some continuing medical problems but managine okay. It is apparent she has a wonderful, loving, supportive family. She did send me a joke so I know she's still got that sense of humor and spirit. She lives about 15 miles from me as the crow flies, so we're hoping at some point we can meet up soon. I'm looking forward to also meeting her mom. For those of you who are new, when I had knee replacement surg...
I had a guidant pacemaker put in place in 2001 and it lasted until january of 2007. Now it has run out of batteries and had to have another one put in this year in January. I went to my pacemaker check at a local pacemaker clinic and the technologist told me that my pacemaker was already over 20 percent used. Is this bad and what can be done about it. I have been extremely tired lately and short of breath. I already had two electrical heart attacks and 2 major strokes.
