Is it normal for the pacemaker to move?

I have had a pm for 13 yrs now and have never experienced it moving before. The last few months it has been quite sore especially when lifting my arm above my head and making various arm movements. When i felt to see where it was, I wasn't sure whether what I was feeling was the pm or not as it isnt in the usual place. Not sure if I'm making any sense but I hope I am!!! Any advice?
ps I have spoken to my tech about it and he said that the pain is normal and is justy something I will hav...

Need your help please!

My pacemaker is on stand-by, it only beats when my heart goes below 40 beats. I've been having problems with feeling the ventrical lead beating a lot in the past couple of days. The reason I know it's the ventrical is because when I go for my pacemaker check, I'm very sensitive to the ventrical lead beating my heart. I made an appointment with my EP yesterday and the tech told me that my heart is beating on it's own about 99.9 percent of the time, but, why am I feeling the ventrical lead pace f...

dizziness and complications

Well let me begin by saying if I didnt have bad luck I wouldnt have any luck at all!. Summary- I got a PM implanted on 6/11/2009 for atrial tach/SVT. I had an AV node ablation on July 29th leaving me 100% paced and that night I my ventricle lead failed (likely because they hit with a catheter when doing my ablation). August 2nd I was back in the cath lab to have a new lead placed. About 3 days after that I developed this very achey chest pain. It worsened to the point where I had it 24/7...

soreness 6 months pm implant

I've had my pacemaker for about 6 months now and it's still quite sore where the pacemaker sits. Has anyone else experienced this?

My doctor said it could take up to 6 months for scar tissue to fill in there, but I thought for sure by this point the soreness would be gone.

Thanks

pacer moved

I had my pacemaker installed on July 23rd. The scar is minimal as was the bruising and soreness. The last week I've noticed the edge closest to my armpit has lifted slightly and you can clearly see the edge of the unit. It's sore to touch and feels almost like a slight burning sensation when it's rubbed by a shirt etc. I called the pacemaker clinic and they kinda tried to brush off the problem saying that although it could be fixed I'd run the risk of infection if they had to open me up agai...

so confused... failure to pace due to lead

Ok so I am sooooo confused. I had a dual chamber pacemaker put in on June 11. This last wednesday they went in and did the AV node ablation. So here I sit, saturday, still in the hospital. Why you ask???? Because I am having failure of capture when I lay on my right side. It is only a beat here and there. They have been changing my settings around to try and adjust for it and make my voltage high. But now my physician has left for vacation and his intent was to discharge me. Me I am th...

Home after head pain

Hi, I am home now after the shooting pains in the back of my head after being in the hospital for 4 days. I had a pacemaker put in on July 8th. They took all kinds of test, and all the results came back negative for anything. They even interrogated my pacemaker again. I have to see my primary doctor in a couple of weeks for a follow up. I think they believe that it will go away in time. One if my lympth nodes are swollen a little in that area around my neck, but they could not find anythin...

I don't have an infection of any kind, one of the veins in my arm is narrow, but they say this is not causeing the pain and swellen. They say I should not be in pain or swellen. but this device causes me pain and discomfort everyday that i have had it. Anyone have any ideas on what the doctors or I might be m...

more info from Ruesado.....

Here is where my research betweeen Theodur and Prednisone is going in regards to possible contributors to me contracting A-fib.
The year was @ 1987-89, I was stationed at Travis A.F.B. California. My physician was increasing my theodur from 1 each (300 mg) once a day to 3 each (900mg) a day.
This lasted for 6 months until after numerous visits to the ER, with shortness of breathe, I manage to convince a Major in charge of Cardio-pulmo, that I wasn't going to live this way anymore. He...

Pectoral muscle pacing?

Hi!
I've had my pacemaker for nearly two years, after a CA and history of bradycardia. Everything has been fine and I even had the PM repositioned to under my pectoral muscle about 18 months ago so it would bother me less and stay in place.

Lately, I have had strange muscle spasms which are very steady and obvious when I exercise. You can see my pectoral muscle pop forward as if the pacemaker is pacing the muscle. It doesn't matter if I'm running, hiking, biking etc. It happens e...

Disconnecting lead to atria

Hi to everyone!!

I just joined with an interest to better understand the condition of my grandma who has been living with a pacemaker for 14 years.

This week she was rushed to hospital after having a rapid heartbeat. She stayed in the hospital overnight for observation.

Her cardiac doctor advised her to have surgery to disconnect one of the leads, the one that stimulates the atria, so that her pacemaker would just work on the ventricle.

Has anyone else...

L shoulder hurts

Hi all:
A newbie here.

I received my 1st PM just a couple of months ago. Had a syncope episode and they are able to see conduction issues with EKG. During a heart cath the electro-physiologist checked it out and there are no blockages, no clogging, no damage, etc. I am 45+ yo male. I have been active and used to be a hard core athlete thus my resting heart rate is typically in the 50s, sometimes lower. I was unaware of any problems before hand, no SOB, dizziness, LOC, etc. After...

Motorcycle Riding

Any motorcyclists here? I traded up to a Harley in April of this year and shortly afterward had an episode of syncope that ended my riding thus far this season. After having a loop recorder implanted they discovered I was having 30+ second episodes of sinus pause. I’ve heard some people say you can’t ride for 6 months to a year after a pacemaker implant. It’s coming up on four weeks since I had the pacemaker put in and I was hoping to get back to riding soon. My doctor's not being very help...

Pacemaker Syndrome

Hi from New Zealand
I have had a dual pacemaker for 12 years because I have complete heart block. I have had 11 years of no problems at all - playing competitive squash, cycling, mountain biking and running. The last year though, I have been experiencing congestion with exercise and general tiredness, not severe enough to impact on work, but i can not really do any exercise without developing congestion, coughing etc. My cardiologist is suggesting pacemaker syndrome, and may put in a third...
