pacemaker syndrome

hi everyone,

can you please tell me what tests can be done to investigate possible pacemaker syndrome?

would an echo show anything?

my atrial pacing has gone up another 8%!!! the dr.'s don't act concerned. i have had this fullfeeling in facve and neck for alomost 2 years with an increase in pacing (mostly atrial but ventricular too) everytime i get an interrogation. i have a burning constant chest pain too. i swear it is my device! how do i get my doctor to...

Breathing Problem

About one month after I got the PM, I started having the urge to take deep breaths...not really short of breath but like I had to really suck in to get adequate air into my lungs. Been reading about PM leads hitting nerves and wondering if this could be the problem. Happens off and on for no reason. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

pain breathing first day after pacemaker?

I have just had my pace maker implanted on Wednesday and experienced pain in my center chest every time I took a breath the first day after. Today is better, but still fill pain when I breath deeply or get winded (i.e. walk up stairs). Is this normal?

Leads hitting a nerve???

I was just at the local Pacer Clinic getting checked because of "issues" I have brought up in this forum previously (quick squeezing feeling, coughing, strange feeling in my neck, etc.) My Tech brought in a second Tech to check me out too. It appears that my Ventricle lead is likely stimulating a nerve!?!?! They could actually feel little spasms every time they made the lower lead (ventricle) work AND I could feel it in my chest and throat!!!

Husband just died after getting a pacemaker

I don't want to scare anyone but my husband just died 16hrs after getting an Adapta DR Medtronic pacemaker installed. He had Sick Sinus Brachcardia (his heart only had problems when he was at rest. It would drop down to the teens, but worked fine when he was up a moving).

Yesterday I was participating in "extra curricular activities" when all of a sudden BAME!!!. This has never happened before. 6 yr old with pacemaker

Hello,
I have a question for anyone with a pacemaker. My 6 year old son has had his pm since 2 months old due to heart block. He is currently on his 2nd device and now after having this one 5+ years he has developed a knot on top of the generator. It is located in his stomach. Trying to recover

I 47 years old. I've had a pacemaker since I was 18. I'm on my fourth one, I have two leads. 11 days ago I had one of the leads replaced and I'm still trying to recover from that. The old lead apparently is not sensing the new lead very well and I have have all sorts of flutters and worse. Yesterday I could hardly walk my son to his classroom, it's like the pacer would not speed up. Then my left arm is swollen and purple. They checked for a blood clot but found nothing. premature atrial contractions?

So after my pacemaker was installed 3 weeks ago I started getting these weird flutters in my heart when I was walking around or on the phone. These things where happening 20 to 40 times a day and it was getting to the point and still is where I am getting scared that I will never function normally again. The doctors are trying all different types of med's but nothings working. I am being held hostage to this. Doe's anyone have the same?

Sharp Pain

Hi, I'm new to this. Had a PM put in 7 weeks ago, I guess I was wondering how long till the pain goes away. Its a sharp burning pain and i have a hard time with seatbelts, bra straps or anything that touchs that spot. Also is it normal for it to move, it seems to be right next to my shoulder and I don't think it was that way before..Not sure whats normal..Thanks Stacy

wire coming out?

I had my pm put in Aug. 3 and pulled the leads out a couple days later...had to have surgery again to put them back. All was fine till a few days ago when I noticed a white bump a little above the suture line. It looks like a pimple. I went for a routine visit to my cardiologist today and brought it to his attention. He said it is a wire from the pacemaker and could be a major problem if it breaks through the skin. I am scheduled to go back to the surgeon Sept. 17. Has anyone ever had some...

Has anyone heard of this??

I am 24yrs old...i have had my PM for 7 months now. Recently i have been helping my new boyfriend on the farm..and have had some extreme irregular heartbeats. Everytime i get on the fourwheeler or drive or ride in the truck over alot of bumps..i get a lump in my throat..shortness of breath..and have irregular heart beat....EVERY SINGLE TIME...i go over alot of bumps!! Does anyone else experience this or does anyone know the cause or could this hurt me...what do i need to do???

Pulse going below what pacer is set at

I had pacemaker implanted on 08/16/07, set at 50. I stayed at 50+ till last night, when I had several pulse readings in the 40's. Panicked, of course, and called doc who said to keep it monitored and call office Monday morning. Went up to 50 after an hour, and still at 50+. Doc said that shouldn't have happened and didn't know why . . . not too reassuring. Should I panic? (I have been checking heart rate twice a day just as a precaution, and found the pulse in 40's just on a routine check....

Laying on Leftside

Hey there, I am new to the group. I got my pacemaker a couple of years ago. I recently starting having weird heart beats when I lay on my left side. It is inconvient because my baby monitor (video) is on that side. So I have to lay flat and turn my head. Has any one experienced this?

OK WHAT IS THIS THING

I just had my PM installed on the 20the of aug,so I am new to this PM world. Mine was installed because my sinus nod doesn't fire to well and my heart rate resting is in the low 30's. severe dizziness

pulled both leads out

I had pm pu in last thursday. when I woke up on tuesday morning my sling had ripped and my arm was over my head. I didn't think too much about it and sewed the sling. that evening I had huge muscle spasms on my right side. after calling the surgeon I went to the hospital and found out that I had pulled one lead out 2" and the other one out 6". had surgery to put them back and now he has me on a very restricted regimen. I'm really scared but know I have to be careful.
