Change of plans

Hi Everyone,
Kinda hoping that when I wrote you next it would eb from home, but the plans have changed. As of yesterday I am back in congestive heart failure and the plans of going home are out. I'm really upset and frustrated and annoyed by all of this and am very disappointed. Trying to cope with this and thought I would by past going into heart failure considering the fact that the heart stuff is corrected, but the cardiologist told me yesterday that this means on Monday we need to do mo...

lack of energy

Hi all,
I had a complete AV node ablation and now pace at 100% of the time with 2 leads. Before the surgery I was on 3 different heart pills and now do not take any. I had the first pacemaker in august this year, developed pacemaker syndrome so had to have a whole new system with 2 leads put in instead of one. Since this has been done I am so tired and have very little energy. Is it normal to feel like this after having AV mode ablated as I feel worse at times now than before?

Just a Hi!

To All:
Had my ICD placed on 11/8, home on the 11th. Trying to figure out what my life will be like now. My sister, bless her heart, found this site for me while I was in the hospital. She said so many of the questions I had were answered here, and that yes, Cheryl, there is life after a pacemaker. I guess I just want some reassurance that I will get past the anxiety about this "thing" in my chest, and what if it doesn't work right, and how will my life change. My husband isn't trying...

Keeping up the hope

Just got back from another pulmonologist and got some new information. For anyone else who is suffering with a unilateral diaphragm paralysis, there is a fairly new procedure being done in Cleveland and Johns Hopkins that may help. This is very reassuring for me becuase it has greatly affected my life (I ran a half marathon less than a year ago but now can't walk around the block). Anti Anxiety meds are helping too!

Minor concern

Background: Medtronic pm installed 8/24/10. Model ADDRL1.Upper left. 2 leads. No complications. Follow up 9/15/10 all working well. 72 yrs old. Gym workout 2/3 times a week. Reclining bike and low weights.

Concern: several times a day experience a "stinging" sensation in pm area. No real pain:irritation only. Is this normal? If so, how long will it continue? Should I be doing something? Thanks.

Warm wishes for the coming holiday season and New Year.

You Will Feel Better

Hi,

I'm new to the group, but I've read many of your postings. I hope that my experiences could give you hope for better day to come. I had an MI 6 and a half years ago and woke up in the ER being shocked back to life. I was transported to another hospital where a cardiologist I didn't know came out at 3:00 am to place a stent in my clogged artery.

I was a typical American couch potato, somewhat over weight and getting no regular exercise. About 4 weeks after the MI th...

I can't get an answer

I've had my Boston Scientific Duel Chamber PM for almost 2 months now. Sometime before the 6 week check up I began to feel my heart beating with a twinge or slight pain every time it beat.

This would go on for 15 to 20 seconds about 3 times a day. Some days are less and once in a while it doesn't happen at all.
I'm guessing it is when the PM is activating to stop the pauses.
During the checks it hasn't happened. I asked the EP and all I got was you must be sensitive to...

Frustrated

Sorry, I just needed to vent a bit and hear if anyone else has any ideas. I’ve been having more problems with being able to breathe. I get tightness in my chest and searing pain up my sternum. I called and spoke with the PM nurses and they just said it wasn’t a rate and pacing issue. What kind of answer is that?!?!  I ended up going to my family doctor who recommended another cardio provider.  I’m not sure if I want to switch providers because I really like the NP who...

...new tests, more anxiety

Hi everyone...
I'm back into hospital tomorrow for an Adenosine Stress Test & Myocardial Perfusion Scan. Whilst I am keep to identify why I suffered from complete heart block and received a dual chamber pacer in July 2010, I fear I am starting to wobble again! Last night I was suffering from 'flutters' and my heart missing beats... felt like it was in my throat!!! Hoping I am just worrying, but also not trusting my body and frightened there is an underlying problem inside my chest... I k...

New Problem

Hi Everyone,
So much for getting out of the ICU this weekend nevermind this week. I have just been told this morning that I have 3 new blood clots. One in my abdomen, one in my leg and one in my arm. They are using medications for now and watching me very closely obviously. They are trying to avoid doing any invasive procedures. I'm ready to go home! I have had enough of ICU and all the issues I have been going through. I feel like I'm missing life even with everyone coming everyday and I a...

I don't know what to think

Today while I was driving at 11 pm back to my house I all the sudden started hyper ventilating and my legs, arms, fingers, and head all started tingling and i had started to get blurred vision. Odd thing was during the entire time my hear felt slow not normal but slow slow ( or at least that's how i perceived it). I have no allergies and wasn't doing anything before hand that would trigger an event like that. Has anyone experienced this?

New Guy

So I just got a new Sorin Reply pacemaker 2 weeks ago for HR dipping in the 20's during sleep and some 7 second pauses. It all started when I started really "getting in shape". Exercise will kill ya.

For the most part, I feel pretty good. A whole lot better in the morning. Big difference between 20 BPM and 50. Haven't totally coped though. I feel like I'm too young for this. I know some people have them younger. Most people have them when they're older. But I felt like I want...

Underarm twitching

Has anyone been experiencing mild twitching underarm. My underarm keeps twitching, but every time I go to touch it, I don't sense it anymore, it's as if it's in my head! Has anyone experienced such a thing? Maybe I am worried that the the device is buzzing!

should I still be tired

Got my PM 5 days ago, should I still feel tired and a little lightheaded?  Could I need an adjustment?  I check my pulse and it has been running about 72-80. Before the PM it would drop to about 37. Just wondering if anyone else felt tired after the PM.
