pacemaker fractured wires

I live in Tucson Arizona. My first pacemaker was placed in Oct. 2002. In Feb 2007 my atrial wire fractured. A new pacemaker and new wire were placed at that time. In August 2014 my battery ran out and a new pacemaker was inserted. Now in Feb 2021 my second atrial wire fractured. A doctor I was referred to said he wouldn't take out a fractured lead but rather would add a fourth wire to that vein and also he refused to put in a new pacemaker at that time so I will need to hav...

pacemaker/defibrillator lead/coil questions

Hello everyone. My name is Cory and I just found and joined this group yesterday. I really don't voice much in the way of my health, outside of my sweetheart wife; but, I am taking a shot now feeling like there might be someone out there who can give me some perspective, information and maybe even prepare me.

I can handle most anything if I know what I'm dealing with.

So, my pacemaker/defibrillator was placed in 2013. I just turned 48. I am due for a battery/device ch...

HIS bundle pacing lead

Morning!

Just a quicky for people's experiences.

If it was not possible first time around to fix a lead on HIS bundle pacing position is it possible it could be done in the future?

Or if it was difficult to impossible once that means it's the same in the future?

Silly worries

I think I will be coming here every time a question or concern comes to mind, so sorry if you get sick of hearing from me! Just wondering: Has anyone here actually experienced PM leads coming loose? I am a little over a week out from surgery, and that has been stressed more than anything else...Don't raise your arm or they'll come loose...Don't carry heavy items or they'll come loose...I have forgetful moments when I do something I probably shouldn't, and then I panic...

What to expect with battery and lead change

I am scheduled to have my pacemaker battery and RV lead replaced - it is 'crimpted' - I'm paced 100% with this lead.  Although I'm excited to get rid of the bad lead (extreme dizziness, passing out and lots of pain) I am nervous to have the procedure!  I'd love to hear from others who have gone through this!

Pacemaker lead

Hi

How many of you can feel the leads to your PM bumpy under the skin? Had PM 24 years but could never feel them in the past, they are still very sore after 8 weeks, again this is unusual as I am normally back to normal by about 5 weeks.

Pacemaker battery very low and exercise

I have St. Judes and have been seeing battery detiorate steadly over last several readouts.  Today it showed 0 to 1 month remaining. Two months ago it was 1 to 3.

The St. Judes tech who knows me well said you could go another month, but then he told the cardiologist watching maybe we should go ahead for change. I agreed.

Cardio said I will start the ball rolling for change. Don't know how long that will be with VA and current Covid restrictions.

So my question relat...

Lead voltage

I went to my ep yesterday and during the appt he discussed the RV lead in my icd/pm. The voltage was 1.4. He ran some tests using the device computer and my voltage jumped all over the place. He called the Medtronic rep and spoke to him, as he had already left fthe office for the day (I was the last person of the day with a device). We went on to other things. His office called me about 5 and said they need to Schedule a NIPS procedure.
Has anybody had voltage issues...

Fell on left side

So this past Saturday I went for a walk and ended up stepping wrong and fell. I landed on my left side and ever since I have been feeling a vibration inside my left breast area. I am worried that my battery or lead may have been damaged and am waiting to hear back from my doctor.  Has anyone experienced the vibration sensation? What were you told it was?

The Energizer Bunny just died

Hi Guys,

It's been a while since I posted anything.

Just wanted to let you know:

Last Tuesday, I had my regular quarterly checkup at the Montreal Heart Institute pacemaker clinic. My electrophysiologist told me that the Energizer Bunny was just about running out of juice. Packman had been with me since May 2010. Monday morning, I was on the table, getting a new little friend (name suggestions are welcome).

Because of my advanced years (...

Battery depletion

Hi guys I'm having issues. In Sept I was having numerous palpitations and skipping beats. I went to the ER. They said seems fine. The pacemaker rep came to the hospital and interrogated thoroughly. At that time he said I had 5 years on my battery. 1 month later they said I had 2&1/2 years on my battery. Because of the ongoing heart rate issues I had to go back yesterday and they now tell me I have 6 mons and they want to replace the battery? How could I go from 5 yrs left to 6 mons in...

Loose lead?

Hello again. I got a CRT-P just over 2-1/2 weeks ago, on November 19th. I had to get it after they determined that the dual-chamber that I got 6 years ago was pacing my right ventricle 100 % and was out of sync with the right side. Initally I was startled several days later when I realized that my shortness of breath was gone. Then last week I went in for my post-op follow-up and the technician checking my device said one of my numbers had increased in just over a week and I might h...

How do you know if your leads are failing?

Hello!

It's been some time since I last wrote this group.

I have had my pacemaker for idiopathic third degree heart block for a little more than four years now. I am in my late thirties, I jog three miles regularly, and apart from the heart block I otherwise have zero health issues.

Today, I had a concerning experience. After walking quickly up two flights of stairs to my apartment, I had a series of really strong heart palpitations. My underlying heart rate fe...

CRT pacemaker leada

How easy is it to pull a lead out of position in your heart? I had my pacemaker surgery on Friday. Today I twisted my right arm around to put on a sweater (pacemaker is on left side) and felt a very hard, sharp pain in the middle of my chest. I'm wondering if I could have dislodged a lead?
